Your Impact

You will establish and lead a globally consistent, high-performing cost management function supporting the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure across multiple regions. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll shape investment decisions, drive cost optimisation, and embed best-in-class cost intelligence across the business.

You will:

  • Lead the development of a global cost management function, frameworks, and standards
  • Influence business cases and investment decisions through robust, data-driven cost insights
  • Build and embed advanced cost intelligence, benchmarking, and reporting capabilities
  • Drive cost optimisation, standardisation, and scalability across a growing global portfolio
  • Partner with development and delivery teams to enable successful project outcomes

What you'll do

Strategic Cost Leadership

  • Proven ability to define and implement cost management strategies at a global or enterprise level
  • Experience establishing frameworks, methodologies, and standards across complex project lifecycles
  • Strong alignment with procurement, contracting, and delivery strategies

Cost Intelligence & Benchmarking

  • Experience building and managing cost benchmarking platforms and databases
  • Strong capability in cost modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis
  • Ability to translate market insights and cost data into strategic business decisions

Project & Pre-Contract Expertise

  • Deep experience in cost planning, estimation, and business case development
  • Proven ability to ensure consistency and accuracy across large, multi-region portfolios
  • Strong understanding of early-stage project development and investment processes

Value Engineering & Optimisation

  • Demonstrated success driving value engineering and design-to-cost outcomes
  • Track record of delivering measurable cost savings and value creation
  • Ability to influence design, development, and delivery teams

Governance & Commercial Acumen

  • Experience implementing cost governance frameworks and assurance processes
  • Strong understanding of cost forecasting, contingency management, and financial reporting
  • Ability to support procurement strategies, tender evaluations, and commercial decisions

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams at scale
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders, including executive and board-level audiences
  • Strong relationship management across internal teams, contractors, and industry partner

What you’ll bring

  • 15+ years’ experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial leadership roles
  • Background in construction, infrastructure, data centres, or large-scale developments
  • Experience delivering complex projects across multiple regions
  • Proven track record leading cost functions or large, multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage a global consistent and high-performing cost management function
  • Experience in cost intelligence and benchmarking ensuring this is embedded and actively used across the business
  • Ability to ensure accuracy and confidence in cost forecasting and investment decisions
  • Previous success in cost savings and value creation delivered across the global portfolio
  • Ability to support business cases with concise, data-driven expository documents
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Able to operate with significant autonomy and discretion
  • Strong communicator and ability to interact with all professional levels within an organisation
  • Professional attitude with persuasive skills in making things happen
  • Exceptionally flexible, forward-thinking, and motivated by change
