Responsibilities (Corrected)

❌ "Hands-on leader who's also strategic" ✅ Pick one. If you genuinely need both, you need two hires, a Director and a VP. Conflating them is how companies burn out senior talent in 14 months.

❌ "Data-driven storyteller" ✅ I drive revenue. The storytelling is a byproduct of having results worth telling. Anyone leading with "storyteller" in 2026 is describing a content manager.

❌ "Comfortable with ambiguity" ✅ I reduce ambiguity. That is literally the job description of a VP.

❌ "AI-curious" / "Exposure to AI tools a plus" ✅ I've shipped AI-augmented marketing infrastructure my team uses daily. "Curious" is where your CMO is. I'm the upgrade.

❌ "Fast-paced environment" ✅ I work fast because I'm good, not because I'm panicking. If "fast-paced" is your proxy for "understaffed and on fire," say so. I'll pass.

❌ "Owns the marketing function" ✅ Define ownership. The budget? The P&L line? The hiring? The vendor contracts? If the answer is "influence," this is a Director role with a VP title.

Qualifications (The Company Must Have)

  • Annual marketing budget of $10M+ under genuine VP authority
  • A CFO who understands Marketing Mix Modeling isn't witchcraft
  • A CEO or CRO who reads the P&L line, not just the activity dashboard
  • Product and Sales teams that answer Slack messages within the same business day
  • Willingness to post your compensation band like an adult

Nice-to-Haves

  • Founder-led or CRO-led reporting structure (not CMO-of-a-CMO)
  • An actual appetite for AI-augmented workflows, I've already built the infrastructure, you just need to let me deploy it
  • Remote-first culture or GMT-adjacent working hours

  • My mandate is structural: align media, measurement, and commercial infrastructure to increase incremental revenue, not just platform efficiency
