Director of Marketing
Marius PharmaceuticalsABOUT MARIUS PHARMACEUTICALS
Marius Pharmaceuticals is dedicated to advancing the treatment of Testosterone Deficiency, a chronic condition impacting over twenty million men in the US. Our commitment extends beyond addressing the commonly associated sexual health issues, as low testosterone significantly affects physical, cardiovascular, cognitive health, inflammation, and insulin sensitivity. It also plays a critical role in conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, depression, osteoporosis, and muscle wasting (sarcopenia). These factors contribute to broader metabolic health challenges and impose additional burdens on the healthcare system.
Our patient-centric approach is embodied in our innovative oral therapy, KYZATREX® (testosterone undecanoate) CIII capsules, designed to address Testosterone Deficiency. Alongside the brand, we work to educate and inform the public about the extensive impact of low testosterone on men's health.
Marius is committed to pioneering holistic health solutions that consider the full spectrum of impacts related to testosterone deficiency. Our mission is to enhance metabolic health and reduce the global healthcare costs associated with Testosterone Deficiency through continuous innovation and a steadfast dedication to patient care. We strive to provide therapies that truly make a difference in the lives of those affected by this condition.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced marketing professional to join our dynamic team in the role of Director of Marketing. Reporting to the CEO, this individual owns the full commercial marketing function for KYZATREX and for testosterone deficiency disease state awareness — across both healthcare professional (HCP) and patient/consumer audiences, and across both traditional and digital channels.
This is a hands-on, build-it role in a lean commercial organization. The Director of Marketing sets brand strategy and messaging architecture, directs creative and agency partners, equips the field sales team, and is accountable for the performance of every dollar deployed. Success is measured in awareness, demand, prescriptions, and revenue — not in campaign volume.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Healthcare Professional (HCP) Marketing
- Own HCP brand strategy for KYZATREX, including positioning, messaging architecture, segmentation, and targeting across urology, endocrinology, primary care, men's health, and telehealth prescribers.
- Develop and maintain the core promotional toolkit — visual aid, leave-behinds, clinical reprints, objection handlers, and formulary and access materials — and ensure the field is equipped, trained, and confident using it.
- Partner with the sales leadership team on the annual brand plan, call plan support, incentive-aligned messaging, and national sales meeting content.
- Build and execute non-personal promotion: HCP email, endemic and journal media, EHR and point-of-care channels, programmatic, and peer-to-peer digital.
- Direct congress and convention strategy and execution, including booth presence, symposia, and pre- and post-meeting engagement.
- Support KOL engagement, advisory boards, and speaker programs in close partnership with Medical Affairs, respecting the promotional and non-promotional boundary.
Patient and Consumer Marketing
- Own patient and consumer strategy across the full funnel — awareness, self-recognition of symptoms, activation to seek care, treatment initiation, and adherence.
- Drive significant organic and paid awareness for Testosterone Deficiency and for testosterone as a metabolic hormone.
- Position KYZATREX as the leading oral testosterone therapy, including its key differentiators from injections, gels, and creams.
- Build and optimize direct-to-patient acquisition across SEO, SEM, paid social, video, podcast, influencer, and affiliate channels, with rigorous attention to cost per acquisition and conversion.
- Own the website, landing page, and email/CRM ecosystem, including lifecycle flows for education, activation, onboarding, and adherence.
- Develop patient support and affordability communications, including copay and savings program messaging, in coordination with market access.
- Build patient advocacy relationships and partnerships — organically and with established advocacy and men's health organizations — and cultivate authentic patient voice and testimonial programs within compliant boundaries.
Brand, Creative and Content
- Serve as steward of the Marius and KYZATREX brand identities and their digital properties, ensuring the visual system, tone, and message are strong and consistent across every channel and asset.
- Direct the creative process end to end — brief, concept, production, and delivery — across video, audio, text, imagery, and mixed media.
- Select, manage, and hold accountable digital, creative, media, and public relations agency partners, including scope, budget, and performance.
- Drive content velocity across blogs, social, video, podcasts, earned media, and self-publishing, leveraging senior management and KOLs for expert voice.
- Own traditional channels where they earn their place: print and journal advertising, direct mail, out-of-home, broadcast and streaming audio, and event presence.
Compliance, Analytics and Operations
- Author and shepherd all promotional materials through medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review, and maintain rigorous on-label discipline consistent with FDA OPDP requirements, fair balance, and the PhRMA Code.
- Ensure all campaigns are data-driven, measurable, and reportable, optimizing performance through analytics and disciplined testing.
- Produce weekly and monthly KPI reporting tied to commercial outcomes — awareness, traffic, conversion, new and total prescriptions, and revenue.
- Manage the marketing budget efficiently, allocating against return rather than habit, and participate in regular management meetings.
- Collaborate effectively across sales, medical affairs, regulatory, market access, operations, and finance, and present marketing strategy, goals, and progress to management and the board.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Pharmaceutical brand experience — you have led a brand team or served as a key member of one for a marketed product, with direct accountability for brand strategy and execution.
- Demonstrated consumer and patient marketing experience, with campaigns you personally built and ran — not oversaw from a distance.
- Experience managing an agency of record or multiple agency partners, including scope, budget, creative direction, and performance accountability.
- Working knowledge of medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review and promotional compliance in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated healthcare environment.
- Proven track record of generating organic customer growth and growing customer audiences.
- Savvy command of digital and social media platforms, paired with real fluency in traditional channels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets against measurable return.
- Strong innovative and creative mindset, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- High ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and people skills.
- Resourceful, efficient, creative, and — most importantly — a team player who is comfortable operating without a large support structure.
- Passionate about health and wellness.
Preferred
- Experience in men's health, hormone therapy, metabolic health, urology, or endocrinology.
- Experience marketing a controlled substance or another product with meaningful regulatory and stigma considerations.
- Experience building or scaling telehealth or direct-to-patient growth.
- Launch or early-commercialization experience at a small or emerging pharmaceutical company.
