JOB SUMMARY

The VP, Spectrum Business Marketing will develop and promote the product story and the go-to-market strategies for our Spectrum Business offerings across small, medium, large, and strategic segments. This leader is responsible for driving subscribers and revenue growth by turning product positioning and insights into relevant go-to-market strategies that drive consideration and intent to purchase. This role leads the efforts to define the value proposition and shape the competitive positioning that differentiates Spectrum Business Solutions for business and vertical audiences. They will be successful through partnering with product management, sales, their extended marketing team, and executive leadership to develop product positioning, messaging, marketing, and integrated sales enablement strategies across the Spectrum portfolio. The role reports to the GVP, Consumer Insights and Portfolio Marketing.

HOW THE VP, SPECTRUM BUSINESS MARKETING MAKES AN IMPACT

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Develop product development/requirements and positioning and messaging that differentiates the company’s products in the market. Includes targeting and segmentation, buyer personas development, route-to-market designs, positioning, value proposition development, and marketing requirements planning.
  • Partner with marketing teams to nurture existing customer relationships and develop opportunities to uncover, curate and promote great customer stories. Lead customer advocacy efforts to drive momentum with Business customers
  • Identify competition and how to effectively position against them.
  • Drive segment marketing strategies and partner to deliver sales enablement and training.
  • Working closely with product management, marketing and sales, plan the marketing launches of new products and feature updates or releases. Be proactive regarding future product needs by segment and champion internal requirements to bring needed products/services to market.
  • Inform product development, ensuring packages fit client needs working closely with the product marketing team to translate our product messaging and value propositions into relevant vertical messaging and positioning.
  • Lead efforts across Analyst Relations to improve Spectrum’s standing with that important business influencer audience.
  • Drive relevant strategies across Strategic accounts with Marketing motions that are targeted, relevant, and innovative. Bring our ABM efforts to the next level.
  • Partner with creative production and lead generation teams to produce a wide variety of formats including content, product videos, social media, slide shares and more, to express the value of the Spectrum portfolio.
  • Execute programs to launch, create awareness and visibility, establish baseline usage and increase engagement within the sales organization. Establish and be accountable for program return on investment based on sales quota attainment correlated to rep usage and engagement.
  • Partner with strategy, marketing analytics and research teams to expand and identify new markets, opportunities and adjacencies. Utilize competitive, industry and customer intelligence programs, and market research with internal and external vendors/resources. Inform and drive our AI search and SEO strategies to transform our Business Marketing.
  • Build strong relationships with key industry technology organizations, forums and thought leaders to remain current on leading industry technology trends and developments as they may apply to the strategy and direction of the business.
  • Lead the development and expansion of vertical programs in the Gov/Ed, Healthcare, Hospitality and Higher Ed verticals. Manage the ongoing execution, oversight and compliance of Erate, USAC, Healthcare Connection Fund, CA Connect Fund and similar programs. Identify and develop new vertical programs and existing sales verticals including Mid-Market and Strategic Markets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Demonstrated leadership success in driving product launches and go to market programs through direct field sales teams and alternate channels
  • Experience selling and supporting network and cloud services and solutions in the enterprise strategic and vertical markets
  • Experience in the enterprise network and cloud solutions space and be a proven results-oriented leader in Product Marketing
  • Experience in Communications Residential Consumer market
  • Knowledge of external markets, customers, and internal capabilities to identify key target audiences and personas
  • Expert who has created and executed comprehensive marketing plans and led hands-on execution
  • Proven history of delivering materials, messaging and content to drive efficient quota attainment of professional selling teams
  • Demonstrated history of leading teams to successful outcomes, exceeding measured goal expectations, and data driven mindsets with strong instinct for the client’s perspective
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and speaking skills
  • Ability to gain buy-in and alignment across sales, product, tech, ops, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively lead change and transformation
  • Strong collaboration skills within function, and across peer stakeholders
  • Executive networking with client executives
  • Product Marketing Experience in as many of the following as possible: Product Launch and Promotion, GTM Strategy Development and Execution, Product and sales training development, Customer / Market Requirements and Market Research

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION

  • MBA highly desirable

REQUIRED RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE AND NUMBER OF YEARS

  • Progressive experience in product marketing of B2B, B2C, mid-market, enterprise and strategic and vertical markets serving enterprise clients and consumers - 11+
  • Leadership experience building and growing high performing marketing and/or product management teams larger than 8-10 employees - 7+
  • Leadership experience partnering with Sales leadership and training teams to execute GTM strategies - 5+
