The Marketing & Event Coordinator is a creative and detail-oriented professional responsible for supporting marketing, branding, and event coordination across the Chicago market. This hybrid role involves both on-site and off-site responsibilities, including event execution, social media content creation, collateral management, and digital marketing. The Coordinator works closely with the brand and sales teams to ensure the seamless implementation of strategic marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, enhance guest experiences, and support business goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Events Coordination
- Collaborate with the Brand team and local Sales Manager to plan and execute off-site pop-up activations aimed at increasing brand awareness.
- In partnership with Sales & Events Manager, assist with logistical preparations, including gathering materials, coordinating store operations, and reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Engage with attendees at activations by distributing promotional items (e.g., drink/taco tickets), collecting contact information, and promoting the Bodega brand.
- Capture engaging on-site content for social media, showcasing the energy and appeal of events.
Brand Support
- Maintain and organize collateral materials, including event decks, decor items, giveaways, and merchandise.
- Audit in-store signage and printed assets to ensure alignment with the programming calendar and brand standards.
- Provide feedback on signage placement, QR code functionality, and additional opportunities for printed materials.
Marketing Coordination
- Assist in graphic design projects such as social media flyers and templates for events and promotions.
- Manage and organize brand templates and assets for team use, including logos, fonts, presentation templates, and menus.
- Collaborate with the corporate graphic designer to produce weekly DJ flyers, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Monitor competitors and suggest creative ideas to keep content fresh and aligned with industry trends.
Digital Marketing
- Update online event listings on platforms such as the company website, Eventbrite, and SevenRooms, utilizing SEO strategies and engaging copy.
- Track performance through UTM links and ensure all digital assets are correctly sized and aligned with event details.
- Schedule and manage email marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Maintain and update the Bodega app with push alerts and cover images in line with the marketing calendar.
Reputation Management
- Conduct audits of guest-facing platforms (e.g., Yext, Popmenu) to ensure accurate business information, including hours, menu items, and images.
- Facilitate updates to phone recordings and online listings as communicated by the brand team.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Work on-site during scheduled programming to capture content for social media platforms.
- Coordinate with management to enhance the in-store experience and invite guests for special events.
- Schedule and publish approved content, ensuring accurate links, hashtags, and platform-specific sizing.
- Create engaging reels and videos using trends, audio, and typography, incorporating logos and relevant branding.
- Coordinate photographers and videographers, ensuring all content deliverables meet brand standards and are received promptly.

- Events: Seamless execution of off-site activations demonstrated return of investment on attendee engagement, and impactful content that drives brand awareness.
- Brand Support: Up-to-date and relevant in-store materials that align with programming goals and build engagement with onsite Team Members to drive brand messaging.
- Marketing Coordination: Timely and effective delivery of digital assets, fresh and creative content, and organized brand resources.
- Digital Marketing: Accurate and engaging event listings, well-executed email campaigns, and app updates aligned with business objectives.
- Social Media: Timely, high-quality content that builds awareness and supports business goals, with proactive monitoring of trends.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, event coordination, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) and social media platforms.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, UTM tracking, and email marketing best practices.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage audiences and build relationships.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate nights, weekends, and holiday events as needed.
Working Conditions
This hybrid role requires a mix of remote work, on-site work at properties, and attendance at off-site events throughout the Chicago market. Flexible hours are expected, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
