Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Creative Director to join our high growth team at Thorne. The Creative Director will be responsible for leading the creative vision and strategy for Thorne's brand voice, creative campaigns, packaging design, and marketing initiatives across all channels. This role will own the creative strategy and development for all of Marketing’s workstreams, steward the production process, and manage creative resources, including external designers, agencies, and vendors. Thorne’s Creative Director must have a strong passion for health and wellness, exceptional creativity, the ability to pull through the funnel with strong creative, and bold thinking around making big forward steps with a brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive creative strategy that aligns with Thorne's NorthStar and business objectives, ensuring a cohesive brand identity across all platforms.
- Brand Voice Development: Guide the evolution of the Thorne brand voice and storytelling to deliver on our status as a trusted, innovative, maverick.
- Campaign Concepting and Direction: Oversee the creative development of marketing campaigns, product launches and events, from ideation to execution, that will drive customer acquisition, engagement and brand love for Thorne. This will be done first with an agency and then moved in-house as the team expands.
- Full funnel asset creation: Lead the creation of unique and compelling assets and campaign design across mediums and channels including performance channels, web, video, organic social, physical experiences, and more, ensuring that all content aligns with the brand.
- Leadership and Influence: Guide and inspire a team of designers, copywriters, and content creators, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages fresh ideas and creativity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product go-to-market team, sports partnerships, pro sales and digital marketing teams to create integrated campaigns that drive engagement and sales.
- Growth Mindset: Analyze the performance of creative initiatives using metrics and insights to make design decisions using the data, refine projects and identify opportunities for storytelling to reach our consumers.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external creative agencies, photographers, and other suppliers as needed to maintain high-quality standards
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably in-house and within the health and wellness, consumer goods, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Experience building and executing innovative and inspiring work for a challenger brand or new category.
- Experience delivering on brand storytelling and performance marketing with equal passion and strength.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and influence stakeholders.
- Strong track record of attracting, building, leading and retaining dedicated and talented creative design teams and finding best-in-class design agency and freelance partners.
- Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, career path guidance and timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on budget and schedule.
