Responsibilities
The Creative Multimedia Manager will collaborate closely with the Marketing team and participate in the planning and execution of the visual component of marketing efforts, promoting and strengthening the Citarella gourmet brand and sub-brands in adherence to the Citarella brand positioning all while managing deadlines and priorities. They will be working on variety of projects including cross platform, digital and physical touch points and branding initiatives—leading and directing the design and production of visual and audio/video materials used for digital media, and web communications. The visual designer must be able to translate our brand and value into visually stimulating and engaging designs that showcase our delicious food, amazing people and unique processes. This role would span across the organization supporting various departments with a wide range of design collateral and play a pivotal part in the evolution of the Citarella brand in and out of the store. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop creative assets across all forms of media that effectively and cohesively communicate Citarella’s brand identity, including but not limited to the design and production of layouts, color palettes, typography, user interface elements and icons.
- Responsible for the Citarella Brand Style guide/book including new or updated guidelines required for the brand or sub brands
- Build and maintain the Citarella brand in adherence to the brand parameters in-store, on-line and in all communication pieces both internal and customer-facing.
- Design, develop and execute graphic collateral and creative assets for the marketing / promotional team and other departments as requested.
- Translate the needs of the ecommerce team to provide an optimal customer website and navigational experience for the brand.
- Oversee content specialist, junior and freelance graphic designers, and outline/define projects and deliverables, developing tools and templates for team.
- Manage project deadlines and moving priorities and keep up with content changes for all projects.
- Adhere to timeline processes and come up with solutions when appropriate.
- Design and develop web ready digital marketing ads and campaigns.
- Be the lead on day to day digital and print projects and initiatives specific to Citarella including menu design, store signage, advertisement, and packaging.
- Assist with managing the printing process of all collateral, whether in-house, or through an approved vendor, this includes the ability to prepare cost effective designs.
- Work with a wide range of media, including digital ads, social, web, photography, videography, and computer-aided design (CAD).
- Support Marketing Manager and Social Specialist to create engaging graphics/content in an effort to increase social engagement.
- Oversee the creation of private label packaging and labeling projects.
- Develop Brand content and creative that entices consumers and helps to raise customer traffic through all marketing channels.
- Travel to Hunts Point in the Bronx, office at Upper West Side location and various store locations in NYC, CT and the Hamptons.
Primary Functions
Primary functions are roles that are assigned to the Creative Multimedia Manager depending on the needs of the company. You may be responsible for any of the below tasks at any time. Primary functions are as follows:
- Graphic Design, Photo & Video Production: Driven curiosity to stay ahead of culinary design trends and recommend how to incorporate into Citarella’s unique positioning.
- Must be creative and initiate ideas while maintaining overall focus on Company brand, vision and goals.
- Establishes and implements design and format standards and processes to produce consistent and quality results.
- Possess creative design talents that span and display sensitivity to diverse portfolio of food, suppliers and people including but not limited to product interaction, print / environment design, digital, video and web applications.
- Outstanding writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
- Understanding of photo and video shoot planning, storyboarding, and the production process.
- Own photoshoots and the execution of video editing, motion graphics and animation effects.
Leadership & Management: Experience managing a design team and an ability to effectively communicate creative needs. Meticulous organization and time management. Superb ability to manage, and prioritize numerous requests with agility, flexibility and while effectively communicating a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Communication: Advanced interpersonal and communication skills. Presents concepts and designs to various departments, team members and leadership. Must be able to take direction, be open to feedback and have a desire to collaborate. Ability to work with multiple team members across the organization and complete design projects in a timely manner.

Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design preferred and a minimum of 8 years of experience as the lead for design and video creation.
- Experience and passion for the culinary arts is critical.
Preferred Skills
Expert level skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Familiarity with Email Platform Design, Dotdigital.
