About the role: This is an exciting time to join Rookline as we grow! We’re looking for a customer-obsessed Marketing Manager who is excited to wear a lot of hats as we build out our marketing function. You will be the first dedicated marketing hire, and you will own all parts of marketing — from demand generation, to brand marketing, to product marketing, and beyond. This role combines both strategic vision with hands-on execution, giving you the opportunity to both shape and execute on the marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own Marketing Strategy and Budget: Develop and execute a scalable DTC and Green Grass marketing strategy focused on demand generation and product adoption while optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
- Lead Demand Generation: Create and implement multi-channel campaigns and grow our self-serve functionality by increasing website traffic and conversions.
- Build and Nurture Community: Create a thriving user and industry ecosystem through compelling content, forums, events, and strategic partnerships to boost engagement and advocacy.
- Create and execute a content and social media strategy: Share engaging educational material—including case studies, tutorials, webinars, and thought leadership content—to drive user success, product adoption, and demand generation.
- Drive Brand and Product Marketing: Define and evolve brand identity, messaging, and lead marketing strategy for product launches.
- Measure and Optimize Performance: Establish KPIs, track ROI, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve marketing strategies and resource efficiency.
- Photoshoot management and creative direction: Own the planning, calendarization, and execution of photoshoots, managing timelines, budgets, and production teams; Collaborate with creative and product teams to develop compelling visual content that aligns with each brand’s identity; Integrate photoshoot assets seamlessly across marketing campaigns, websites, and social media.
- Digital marketing excellence: Lead performance marketing initiatives, including paid search, paid social, SEO, affiliate marketing, and programmatic advertising; Manage relationships with digital marketing agencies, ensuring strong ROI and measurable outcomes; Analyze campaign performance to optimize strategies and drive customer acquisition and retention.
- PR, Partnerships, and Ambassadors: Manage PR efforts to enhance brand visibility and reputation, coordinating with external agencies and internal teams; Cultivate strategic partnerships and ambassador programs that authentically represent the brands’ values and resonate with target audiences. Drive initiatives to engage key influencers and media contacts, amplifying reach and relevance.
- Social media, CRM, and Email/SMS Marketing: Oversee social media strategy, driving growth, engagement, and community building across platforms; Lead CRM efforts, including email and SMS marketing, to create personalized, data-driven customer journeys; Develop campaigns to grow the subscriber base, enhance retention, and increase customer lifetime value.
- Team and Calendar Management: Develop and manage a comprehensive marketing calendar across all rev streams (DTC, Green Grass), aligning campaigns, photoshoots, product launches, and partnerships; Lead and mentor a high-performing team across PR, digital marketing, creative, and CRM functions; Ensure flawless execution of projects, maintaining a focus on quality and timeliness.
- Work Cross-functionally: Collaborate closely and share learnings with Design, Production and all 3rd party platforms.

You are a good fit for this role if….
- You have a bachelor’s degree, MBA is a bonus
- You have 3-5+ years of experience in product marketing, growth marketing, demand generation, marketing operations, or management consulting. Bonus: You’ve worked at an early-stage DTC startup and/or fashion
- You are both creative and analytical—comfortable designing social media assets and experimenting with branding while using data and metrics to drive your decisions
- You are knowledgeable about tools and strategies for marketing, and you demonstrate exceptional proactivity in system and process improvements
- You are an owner, and have a strong bias for speed and action
- You are a team player who loves working cross-functionally
- You solve problems with first principles thinking and always come with solutions
- You have a keen eye for detail, and constantly ensure the accuracy of your work
