About the Role
The Senior Director of Shopper Marketing shapes how our brand connects with customers at the point of sale at key retailers. They drive sales growth and consumer engagement, through developing and implementing shopper insight-led omni strategy, solutions, and programs. The Senior Director of Shopper Marketing creates and implements strategies to enhance the shopping experience by understanding what drives consumer behavior and retail trends. They work collaboratively across brand, sales, and marketing teams to develop and execute shopper solutions. This role is a dynamic, customer and brand focused role that translates consumer/shopper insights, brand strategies, customer strategies into actionable solutions to drive sales. It requires both strategic thinking and a hands-on approach to make sure our shopper marketing efforts have a real impact.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead the development of omni retailer shopper marketing plans tailored to each channel/customer, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer strategies.
- Deliver pre and post program results with the mindset of continuous improvement (and measurement) to drive future informed decisions.
- Develop purpose-driven, integrated plans to drive sales and customer engagement; grounded in insights and customer growth opportunities.
- Provide analytical guidance to the team around consumer trends, investment strategy, sales metrics, and other key data.
- Manage the planning and allocation of retailer shopper marketing budget and resources across available team, vendors, and internal/external teams to optimize return on investment (ROI) and ability to scale.
- Improve ROI by reviewing results and recommendations and enhancing plans to deliver growth objectives efficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years’ of Shopper Marketing experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry
- Proven success in business building (strategy development, solutions leadership, thought leadership)
- Proven success in driving sales growth through developing and implementing shopper marketing plans
- Financial acumen related to managing a budget, ROI analysis and budget optimization
- Proven ability to influence and engage cross-function leaders for shared success and performance
- Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to thrive in change as both a high-level strategic thinker and hands-on operator who delivers results
- Influential and effective communicator proficient in storytelling, influencing and negotiating
- Ability to leverage data and trends to generate insights, and ultimately solutions, that drive shopper behaviors
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and strategic problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week (Monday-Wednesday) in our Culver City office
