We are looking for a highly creative and strategic Associate Director, Social Media & Content to lead and elevate our brand's presence across social platforms. This role will own the end-to-end strategy for social media, oversee content creation, and play a key role in shaping the brand's digital storytelling. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong creative vision and the ability to execute strategically. They will share our commitment to create waves of kindness for people and our planet with products founded on purity, quality and efficacy.
Responsibilities:
- Social Media Leadership
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking, innovative social media strategy that drives brand awareness, engagement, and growth across all key platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Lead the development and execution of a social media calendar, strategically designed to align with marketing objectives, highlight key brand moments, and drive meaningful growth in social media following
- Track and analyze performance metrics, using data to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement
- Content Creation
- Collaborate with our in-house Creative team to concept, design, and produce high-quality, engaging content across multiple formats—video, graphics, and written posts—including participation in our monthly in-house photo shoots
- Collaborate with the influencer team to identify, onboard, and manage relationships with content creators, handling contracts, deliverables, and budgets to ensure partnerships align with campaign goals and brand strategy
- Collaborate with the Content team to write engaging captions in the brand voice and tone
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines while remaining fresh, trend-driven, and innovative
- Community Engagement
- Oversee and actively engage in community management, supporting the Social Media Community Coordinator in moderating conversations, responding to comments, and fostering positive connections
- Serve as a resource for best practices in community engagement while helping maintain an authentic brand voice across interactions
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Creative, Customer Care, Influencer, ULTA, Retailers, Paid Media and CRM to drive an omni-channel social strategy that engages our customers at every touch point
- Effectively manages expectations and input from multiple stakeholders, ensuring alignment and delivering high-quality results.
Requirements
- Prior experience in an Associate Director or high-level management role required.
- Based in Los Angeles and available to attend monthly in-house shoots, influencer and community events, and work on content creation in the office when needed
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to support key brand moments, events, or social media needs
- 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years managing social media or closely related roles for a consumer brand, with a demonstrated history of driving growth and engagement
- Expertise in content creation, including video editing, graphic design, writing captions and platform-specific storytelling
- Experience managing creator partnerships, including contracting and budget oversight
- Proficient in using tools such as Dash Hudson, Tribe Dynamics, and Figma
- Familiarity with analytics tools to measure and report on campaign success
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- A passion for creativity, innovation, and staying at the forefront of social media trends

Compensation:
Base salary range: $90,000-$135,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include work experience and skill level).
