About Ashby:
At Ashby, we’ve achieved incredible product-market fit, driven by a strong customer referral flywheel. Over the past few years, we have scaled to more than 1,800 customers, ranging from startups to large publicly traded companies. Ashby often replaces multiple tools for our customers, making precisely timed nurturing strategies essential—a robust marketing operational backbone will be critical to our ultimate success.
About This Role:
We’re seeking our first Marketing Operations Manager to join our rapidly expanding Revenue Operations team. The hired candidate will report to the Head of Revenue Operations and be the Strategy & Ops partner to our VP of Marketing and her team. You are a systems expert, with a deep understanding of modern marketing tools and data. You have a passion for connecting the dots and finding process efficiencies. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves to build and make improvements and have done so at a SaaS company that has scaled past $100M in ARR.
We have built a sophisticated marketing tech stack and are now looking for someone who can help us optimize and scale. You’ll collaborate closely with our Content, Demand Generation, and Events Marketing teams to ensure effective campaign management, systems integration and analytics. Additionally, you’ll ensure that we have a robust data management program to support a team of experienced marketers and revenue operations leaders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Marketing Technology & Automation:
- Oversee and optimize Ashby’s marketing technology stack workflows, data, and integrations. Today this includes tools like HubSpot, Cargo, UserGems, Dreamdata, Clay, Instantly, and Relevance AI.
- Lead evaluations of new technologies, including maintaining a strong pulse on the evolving martech landscape.
Data Management & Analysis:
- Own the quality and governance of marketing data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems and with Sales and Customer Success. Maintain our source data attribution model and DreamData W-shaped attribution model.
- In partnership with the Demand Generation team, maintain our CRM’s Account, Contact, and Intent Signals. Ensure integration with Sales and Marketing automation, and regularly run a QA process for accuracy. Enrich the CRM to support ABM efforts.
- Analytical skills to create insightful reports, interpret trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
Campaign Operations & Reporting:
- Collaborate with Content, Demand Generation, and Events teams to execute and measure marketing campaigns, and ensure data/contact lists are correctly uploaded to Hubspot.
- Build data fluency that you are able to confidently identify and troubleshoot anomalies, addressing root causes to ensure reliable metrics.
Process Optimization:
- Work closely with the marketing team to identify opportunities for, and implementation of, scalable processes to enhance marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement in workflows to support future growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a key link between Marketing programs and Sales execution within the Revenue Operations team.
- Foster alignment, effective communication, and shared success across teams.
Technical & Project Management Expertise:
- Familiarity with HTML, SQL, and other web technologies is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational and time-management skills.
You Might Love This Role If:
- You balance creative problem-solving and operational execution
- You’re a systems thinker with experience managing complex marketing tech stacks
- You create leverage through automation and AI
- You have a passion for data-driven decision-making
- You excel at cross-functional collaboration
This Role Might Not Be for You If:
- You’re primarily a big picture strategy person
- You are not comfortable being an admin of tools like HubSpot or Clay
- You prefer working independently vs as part of an interdisciplinary team
- You are looking to manage a team, this is an individual contributor role
Interview Plan:
- Introductory Call (30 minutes): Initial conversation to discuss your background and interest in the role.
- Interview with Hiring Manager (45 minutes): Deep dive into your experience and how it aligns with the role.
- Interview with Head of Marketing (45 minutes): Discussion on strategic alignment and collaboration with the marketing team.
- Assignment: A practical task to assess your problem-solving skills and technical capabilities.
- Team Interviews: Meetings with additional team members to evaluate cultural fit and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Our Philosophy
Here are a few key points (relevant to the go-to-market side) that should give you an idea of what it is like to work with us:
- We believe a highly differentiated product is a lot easier to sell, so we continually invest in product innovation and this has proven to be a sustainable source of competitive differentiation.
- We always aim to show up well prepared and with deep industry acumen. This caliber of customer experience is another way we differentiate.
- We strongly believe that small teams with very talented people (and the right work environment) deliver much better performance than teams with large headcount. We hire and compensate accordingly.
We value a strong sense of ownership, principled thinking over experience, and thoughtful communication (we put a lot of effort into using the right communication channels) - we’ll get into these and other values during the hiring process.
Benefits
- You’ll get the time to do things the right way; we put a lot of emphasis on high quality work and avoid quick hacks, but equally move with precision and urgency
- Competitive compensation, including equity
- 10-year exercise window for stock options. You shouldn’t feel pressure to purchase stock options if you leave Ashby —do it when you feel financially comfortable.
- Unlimited PTO with four weeks is recommended per year.
- Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US. We plan to expand this to employees in other countries as situations arise.
- Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. Get what you need to be happy and productive!
- $100/month education budget with more expensive items (like conferences) covered with manager approval.
Compensation Range: $110K - $140K
