Mackenzie Stuart are currently partnered with a market leading Personal Care Contract Manufacturer seeking a Vice President of Research and Innovation.
The Vice President of R&I will oversee the R&D department, responsible for fostering innovation and spearheading the development of new products, technologies, and processes to ensure the company maintains its competitive advantage and supports its growth goals
Responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
- R&D Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement the R&D strategy aligned with company goals, leading and mentoring a high-performing team to drive product innovation.
- Innovation & Product Development: Lead ideation, explore new technologies, and oversee R&D projects from concept to commercialization, supporting continuous improvement of processes and creating innovation boxes for business development.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate with leadership to define R&D priorities, monitor industry trends, and manage the R&D budget to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to align R&D with business needs, report progress, and build industry relationships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, oversee regulatory documentation for approvals, and stay current on industry compliance standards like MOCRA.
To be considered for the role, the following education, experience and qualifications are required:
- Experience: 15+ years in R&D, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role, with a minimum of 5 years in the personal care industry.
- Education: Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
- Skills: Proven track record in product development and innovation, strong leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and excellent communication skills. Experience with project management software like Good Face is a plus.
