BARK is seeking a visionary
VP of Marketing, BARK Air to drive our mission of making all dogs happy. We aim to build the first global 'dog-first' airline, as part of a larger global hospitality and services brand for dogs.
In this role, you will join a small but mighty team to lead the development of innovative marketing strategies that enhance brand equity, fuel business growth, and create exceptional, dog-first experiences. We’re looking for a strategic leader and creative innovator with a proven track record of building and growing highly customer-centric brands, particularly in the hospitality or travel sectors.
As the driving force behind BARK Air’s marketing, you will translate customer insights into impactful, service-oriented initiatives that delight dogs and their people. You will lead us in growing our customer base, along with adding new flight routes and services, while establishing completely unique dog-centric travel experiences in each city we serve.
KEY DUTIES
Brand Leadership
- Define and champion BARK Air’s brand strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and values.
- Oversee brand storytelling across all channels, from social media to experiential marketing.
- Monitor brand health and equity, making data-driven adjustments to grow recognition and value.
- In short-order, establish BARK Air as the preeminent global dog travel and hospitality brand.
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy with clear KPIs to drive customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty.
- Build and oversee a comprehensive marketing calendar, aligning initiatives with sales and business objectives.
- Lead the creation of disruptive, best-in-class campaigns that elevate the brand and foster community engagement.
- Create customer feedback loops that continuously enhance operations and service of the business.
Media Strategy
- Direct integrated media planning and execution, ensuring optimal allocation of media spend.
- Develop strategic partnerships with travel partners, like hotels, other airlines, hospitality brands, media vendors, influencers, and creators to enhance BARK Air’s brand relevance and reach.
- Oversee media mix modeling, campaign performance analysis, and continuous optimization.
Innovation & Partnerships
- Spearhead initiatives in social strategy, leveraging creators, influencers, and platform-driven ideas to drive engagement.
- Cultivate partnerships with brands, organizations, and events to create buzzworthy collaborations, and experiences.
- Champion innovation across retail, social, and digital storytelling.
- Establish BARK Air as a ‘must-have’ partner within the travel & hospitality industry.
Team Leadership
- Grow and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a customer-first culture rooted in insights and data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, operations, and creative teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution.
- Act as a thought leader, driving new ideas and solutions to maintain BARK Air’s competitive edge.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of marketing experience with 10+ years in leadership roles.
- Must have proven expertise in hospitality, travel, DTC, growth marketing, brand strategy, customer acquisition, retention and CRM.
- Strong understanding of customer experience, campaign development, media planning, and marketing analytics.
- Experience driving community engagement through sports, lifestyle, or experiential marketing.
- Creative thinker with a passion for dogs and an ability to inspire teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
This position is a full-time salaried position. It is located on-site at our office in NYC. Although we may be flexible with remote for the right candidate. We offer health insurance for both you and your pup, 401k, wonderful team lunches, cold brew on tap, and a dog to pet anytime you wish.

FOR CO/NJ/NY BASED APPLICANTS:
- The base salary range for this position is $250,000- $300,000
- This position is eligible for equity
- This compensation range is based on BARKs good faith estimate as of the date of this posting and may be modified in the future. Actual pay for this position will depend on a variety of variables including location, travel, internal equity, experience, education, skills and expertise.
