POSITION OVERVIEW
As Head of Marketing, you will report to the President of Business Operations and serve as a key member of the club’s leadership team.
This role will lead all marketing, brand, and audience growth efforts during a pivotal period for the organization. You will be responsible for building and scaling the OCSC brand, driving attendance and revenue, and leveraging major tailwinds—including the World Cup, league evolution, and stadium expansion—to position OCSC as a premier destination for soccer and live experiences in Southern California.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Brand Growth
- Develop and lead a modern, data-driven marketing strategy to drive fan growth, revenue, and brand relevance
- Position OCSC to fully capitalize on the 2026 World Cup moment and increased national attention on soccer
- Build a distinct and compelling brand identity that resonates across Orange County and beyond
- Serve as a key voice in executive-level decisions related to growth, positioning, and fan experience
Stadium Growth & Matchday Experience
- Lead marketing strategy tied to stadium expansion and attendance growth
- Partner with operations and production teams to elevate the matchday experience as a premier entertainment product
- Drive sellouts, repeat attendance, and premium experiences
League Positioning & Future of Soccer
- Build narratives and campaigns around OCSC’s role in the the future of American soccer
- Leverage promotion/relegation dynamics (as applicable) to drive engagement and urgency
Fan Acquisition, Engagement & Community
- Develop strategies to grow new audiences across Orange County, including youth, families, and diverse communities
- Oversee CRM, lifecycle marketing, and database growth to drive retention and lifetime value
- Lead grassroots, community, and cultural marketing initiatives
Revenue & Commercial Impact
- Partner closely with ticketing and partnerships teams to drive ticket sales, merchandise, group and season sales, and partnership revenue
- Develop marketing-driven sales funnels and campaigns across all club inventory
- Support and help close strategic sponsorship and marketing partnerships
Advertising & Media Strategy
- Oversee all paid media strategy including digital, social, OOH, radio, and broadcast
- Ensure efficient media buying and performance optimization to maximize ROI
- Work with internal and external partners to align messaging across all channels
Content, Creative & Digital
- Oversee content, social media, and digital strategy to drive engagement and brand growth
- Ensure consistent, high-quality storytelling across all platforms
- Guide development of creative campaigns, branded assets, and merchandise alignment
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead and develop the marketing, communications, and content teams
- Oversee hiring, performance management, and team growth
- Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
- Maintain high standards for brand consistency, messaging, and execution
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in sports, entertainment, or high-growth consumer brands
- Proven success building and executing marketing strategies that drive measurable growth
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM, content, and modern fan engagement strategies
- Experience working cross-functionally across sales, partnerships, and operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM, ticketing systems, and Adobe tools a plus
- Strong writing skills, including experience with campaigns, presentations, and media communications
