Shelter Institute

About Us

Shelter Institute is a family-run company that's been building and teaching timber framing for over 50 years. We combine startup culture with corporate benefits, creating an environment where creativity thrives. We go to amazing places, do incredible things, and need someone who's ready for adventure.

Want to see who we are? Check out our Youtube channel and our Instagram page, to get a feel for our company culture and to see the kind of content you'd be creating. We will be talking about this in your screening call and interview.

The Role

We're looking for a creative, self-starting Videographer & Content Creator to join our tight-knit video production team. You'll have real creative ownership over short-form content that reaches millions, producing, filming, and editing 3-5 reels per week for Meta while capturing the craftsmanship and culture of timber framing. This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Woolwich, ME campus.

You'll be joining a fast-growing company at an exciting moment, working alongside our Director of Marketing and broader videography team to develop content that actually performs. That means studying what works, iterating on it, and bringing your own creative instincts to the table, in that order. You'll shoot on an iPhone and Sony FX3, travel to active jobsites 4-10 weeks per year (mud, cold, and early mornings included), and have the emotional intelligence to get great footage without disrupting a working crew. If the idea of building upon an already successful social media presence, while injecting your own creativity, and watching your content stop people mid-scroll sounds like your kind of job, we'd love to hear from you.
