Role Overview:
We are looking for a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) & Co-Founder to join our leadership team and drive Coffee Elf’s commercial strategy. As CCO, you will be responsible for locating and segmenting target customer groups, developing a robust sales strategy, and leading business development efforts across multiple sectors, including beauty, fashion, and promotional products. You will play a critical role in creating and executing the go-to-market strategy, building early partnerships, and commercializing new products, especially as we scale our biodegradable material lines. Your hands-on, entrepreneurial spirit will help shape the future of the company as we work with our tech team and industry leaders to commercialize our products and drive early market adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Segmentation & Strategy Development: Identify and segment key customer groups across the beauty, fashion, and promotional product industries. Tailor commercial strategies to meet the needs of these markets.
- Sales & Business Development: Develop and execute sales strategies, including creating and presenting a compelling sales deck to attract customers and partners. Cultivate relationships with potential partners, from initial conversations to long-term collaborations.
- Product Catalog & E-Commerce Strategy: Lead the development of our product catalog, ensuring alignment with market demand. Oversee the creation and implementation of an e-commerce strategy that drives online sales and brand recognition.
- Building Early Partnerships: Forge early partnerships, particularly in the promotional products industry, to secure strategic alliances and generate revenue. Leverage these partnerships to build Coffee Elf’s credibility in new markets.
- Commercialization of Products: Work closely with the tech team and product developers to take our innovative products to market. Develop strategies to commercialize sustainable promotional products, working with early adopters and tech-driven solutions to refine product offerings.
- Branding & Marketing: Guide the creation of marketing campaigns that elevate the brand and attract new customers, leveraging both traditional and digital channels to build brand awareness.
- Hands-On Approach: Ready to roll up your sleeves and take on the day-to-day challenges of a fast-paced startup. Engage directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders to build early reactions and refine our products and messaging.
- Market Expansion: Lead efforts to expand Coffee Elf’s reach in the beauty space, including collaborations with cosmetic companies to incorporate our biodegradable materials into their products.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing commercial team, ensuring alignment with Coffee Elf’s mission and values, and driving growth across various market segments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role, ideally as a Chief Commercial Officer, VP of Sales, or similar, preferably in a startup or fast-growth environment.
- Background in sustainability, consumer goods, and/or eco-friendly products is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and targeting customer segments, developing sales strategies, and building business relationships.
- Strong track record of product commercialization, with hands-on experience working with tech teams and cross-functional groups to bring products to market.
- Experience in the promotional products, beauty, and fashion industries, with an understanding of key trends, customer needs, and strategic partnerships.
- Expertise in e-commerce strategy, sales funnels, and digital marketing.
- Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
- Passion for sustainability and a demonstrated commitment to environmentally-conscious practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
