Director of Marketing

We’re looking for a Director of Marketing to help shape the next chapter of our brand’s evolution and lead the charge in driving customer engagement and demand.
The opportunity:
As Director of Marketing, you will own and lead the development of a new brand strategy for Sunkist and uplevel the internal function that includes implementing best practices to help drive growth across our citrus categories. This is a pivotal role to bring a fresh, compelling brand voice to an iconic brand across digital, traditional, and experiential marketing channels.
As a Marketer who is part operator, part strategist, and in a player/doer role, the Director will create and implement new strategies, in partnership with leaders, and lead a newly hired creative agency to translate national and international brand strategies and marketing plans into actionable consumer marketing efforts.
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Category Management and Marketing, and joining a total team of eight, the Director will be the deputy leader, a go-to SME for consumer initiatives, and manage a team of three.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
Operator/ Leader:
- Lead the daily operations to ensure quality service delivery and operations efficiency. This includes function review, best practices process implementation, and workflow streamlining.
- Create and lead the strategy, implementation and execution of marketing initiatives and campaigns, and keep all stakeholders on point.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a three-person consumer marketing team, creating a culture of collaboration, growth and continuous improvement. Be a deputy to the Sr. Director in supporting the full team.
- Advocate for the consumer’s voice to all levels of team members.
- Be a visible leader. Engage and build relationships with team members, partners, and stakeholders to accomplish marketing goals.
Strategy:
- Lead discussions and recommendations for how to evolve brand and product offerings to achieve company goals.
- Lead discussions and recommendations on brand initiatives for new and existing products, programs and campaigns.
- Review and understand market data, forecast trends, establish KPIs, develop and implement comprehensive strategies encompassing SEO, content approach, social media, and more.
- Create and implement go-to-market strategies across acquisition, engagement and retention objectives to support brand priorities.
Consumer Marketing:
- Recommend and lead the development and execution of consumer marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, consumer interest, and engagement across domestic and global markets.This includes brand marketing, domestic and export consumer campaigns, nutrition education, trade shows, website, social media, Sunkist store, and more.
- Assess, recommend, and implement marketing best practices to uplevel the function impact.
- Lead annual tradeshow programs (booth creation, sponsorships, etc), foodservice campaigns, chef collaborations and culinary partnerships, along with Sunkist store websites.
Brand Development:
- Own, guide, and hold accountable a newly selected creative agency in a multi-year effort on a new brand with a new look and voice. This includes creative evaluations and approvals.
- Lead marketing team, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional team members towards implementation of the new brand strategy, focus on confirmed goals to reach the mission.
Administration:
- Track and report data performance results to senior leadership and provide insights and optimization recommendations.
- Manage consumer marketing spend throughout each season and assist the Sr. Director in management of annual budget including forecasting and expense targets.
Here’s What You’ll Bring:
- Solid experience in operationally leading a marketing function
- Solid experience in strategy development and implementation
- Technical experience with leading brand strategy, creative direction, and digital marketing initiatives (SEO, social media and influencer marketing)
- Demonstrable success in developing and executing national marketing campaigns with a medium to large-scale company
- Deep understanding of consumer behavior and digital marketing best practices
- Strong experience in leading a team and strong mentorship skills to coach and develop team members professional growth
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide direct and cross functional team members and company executives to stay on point to reach goal-line
- Creativity and willingness to achieve maximum impact with limited resources
- Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives with varying deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to plan and manage budgets
- Adaptability and ease to flex with frequently changing priorities and deadlines
- Produce or food industry experience preferred
Additional:
- This is an M-F onsite role in our corporate headquarters; we’re a heavy face time company that enjoys in-person collaboration
- Relocation package to be considered
- Ability to travel nationally 10-20% annually

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
• Annual base compensation range between $130,000 to $180,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from this range.
