The Role
In this role, the Social Media Specialist will connect with diverse virtual communities and build strong relationships with users to showcase our brand, products, and values. Your ability to craft consistent, meaningful content across all social media platforms will be crucial to engaging audiences and driving awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing and maintaining presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc. Write, develop, and strategize online content production and scheduling
- Assist with crisis management, bad reviews and negative news communications
- Generate, edit, publish, and share content daily (original text, images, video, and HTML)
- Build meaningful connections and encourage community members through dialog and messaging
- Create and maintain company social media pages and profiles
- Managing social media campaigns and day-to-day activities; duties include creating editorial calendars, producing engaging photos and content for posts, scheduling posts, audience building, running social media advertising campaigns, managing comments/messages/mentions across multiple channels, interacting with industry leaders, sharing relevant content to increase engagement.
- Creating and editing videos for YouTube and other social media platforms.
- Collaborate with other departments to manage company reputation, coordinate promotions, and increase reach
- Driving relevant traffic to the client’s website through content repurposing (blogs, articles, videos, slide shares, infographics, etc.) and track performance of campaigns using UTM codes.
- Monitoring effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.
- Regularly providing insights gained from social media monitoring to internal team members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
We're Seeking a Candidate Who Embodies The Following Qualities
- BA/BS in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or related field
- 2+ years’ experience in digital marketing and social media
- Understanding of social media metrics; able to interpret the results and take action to increase effectiveness of social media campaigns
- Moderate knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Excellent technical skills related to social media platforms and tools and ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Knowledge of blogging ecosystem.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format and to build and maintain relationships.
- Intermediate knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels
- Positive attitude, customer-oriented w/solid multitasking skills

Qualifications And Education Requirements
- BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations
- 3+ years experience in digital marketing and social media
- Strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms
(Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Knowledge of project management and web design best practices
- Understanding of social media metrics; able to interpret the results and take action to increase effectiveness of social media campaigns
- Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds if needed.
