We are seeking a
Senior Growth Marketing Manager to join the Surfline Marketing team. Millionsofpeople around the world depend on Surfline to enrich their experiences in and around the ocean. We provide surfers with 1000+ live cameras, 16-day forecasts, AI-driven insights, and expert analysis, allowing them to make better decisions about where and when to surf. Our marketing team supports this mission by connecting surfers to our product, and driving sustainable growth for the company.
Reporting to our Director of Marketing, the ideal candidate for this opportunity is a highly motivated marketer with experience driving growth for a consumer subscription product. You'll leverage this expertise to help us acquire new subscribers and reduce churn.You will establish, and execute our overall Growth Marketing strategy, creating exciting campaigns and user journeys. You will also be the accountable party for many of our marketing channels, ensuring we leverage them effectively to deliver on our goals. You are excited to work in a fast-moving environment and are just as comfortable getting in the weeds as you are creating high-level strategy.
Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a full-time remote basis from California or a variety of locations in the US.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute growth marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition and retention
- Present these strategies to senior leadership teams, creating consensus around your approach
- Use a combination of data and qualitative research to identify areas in our funnel that could be improved, and create tactics that do so
- Own the end-to-end strategy for several of our channels, including in-app modals, embeds, email, landing pages, and push notifications
- Drive the creation of new product communication channels, in partnership with Product
- Analyze and report on campaign and user journey performance, using data to optimize our strategies
- Conduct A-B testing and develop a backlog of experiments to help us continuously find new ways to drive subscribers and revenue, such as in our funnel and onboarding experience
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Design, and Product Marketing to ensure we are creating a seamless and consistent customer experience
- Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in growth marketing
- Lead and develop talented marketers, inspiring best-in-class execution while positioning them for professional development
- Guide and give feedback to our Design partners, helping them create marketing assets that resonate with our customers
What We're Looking For:
- 6+ years of growth marketing experience for a consumer subscription company
- Proven experience building and executing multi-channel campaigns that drive subscriber and-or revenue growth
- Expert understanding of customer engagement and CRM platforms like Braze and Appcues
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Track record of being able to motivate cross-functional teams around a shared goal
- Demonstrated can-do attitude, comfortable getting into the weeds and owning unfamiliar tasks as needed
- Strong project management skills. You can follow through and are highly detail-oriented
- Comfort operating in ambiguity within a small, scrappy company
- Someone with a keen eye for great design and creative, and a knowledge of what resonates with customers

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is: $115,000 - $130,000. In accordance with applicable state laws, the range provided is Surfline's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
