Position Summary
The Director of Marketing plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the overall marketing strategy to drive growth, enhance brand recognition and achieve business objectives. The Marketing Director will oversee all marketing functions, including digital marketing, web site functionality, campaign management, branding and analytics, ensuring alignment with the companies’ vision and goals for The Essex Resort & Spa and The Essex Experience. The Director of Marketing will collaborate across departments to develop and execute innovative strategies that elevate the company’s market position and engage target audiences. Our vision includes growing our reputation as a national culinary destination with a focus on health and wellness for both the transient and group markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business goals.
- Oversee brand positioning, messaging and market research to ensure alignment with company vision and customer needs.
- To provide a cohesive marketing plan that fosters collaboration between the Resort Property & The Essex Experience.
- Campaign Management:
- Plan and manage marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, print, social media, email and events.
- Analyze campaign performance and optimize strategies to maximize ROI.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor and develop marketing team.
- Foster collaboration across departments, including Sales, F&B, Rooms and Spa.
- Budget Oversight:
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Track expenditures and report on budget performance.
- Brand Management:
- Maintain and enhance brand consistency across all platforms and materials.
- Drive initiatives that enhance brand awareness and reputation.
- Develop measurable KPIs across platforms and channels.
- Create and guide visual brand and messaging.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and market trends to assess strategy effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership, outlining insights and recommendations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with internal teams and external agencies/vendors to execute marketing initiatives.
- Act as a spokesperson for the company at events, conferences and media engagements as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, tools and platforms.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Resort/Hospitality industry strongly preferred.
