Overview:
Gorilla Mind is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our marketing efforts and drive growth across all channels.The CMO will play a pivotal role in shaping our marketing strategy, building brand awareness, and driving customer acquisition and retention.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives, drive brand awareness, and increase market share.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a best-in-class marketing team that is future-facing and digital-first in all aspects.
- Build and manage an annual marketing budget, present it internally for alignment, and ensure the department operates within the approved budget.
- Oversee the development and evolution of Gorilla Mind's brand identity, ensuring consistency and resonance across all touchpoints.
- Lead efforts to attract and acquire new customers through targeted marketing campaigns, digital advertising, SEO/SEM, social media, and other channels.
- Gain In-Depth Product Knowledge: Acquire a comprehensive understanding of Gorilla Mind's products. Mastery of our product line is crucial for the CMO to develop and execute successful marketing strategies and lead our marketing team effectively.
- Collaborate with product development team and retail sales team to develop and execute product launch strategies, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, leveraging insights to inform marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness of marketing efforts, analyze data to assess performance, and optimize strategies for maximum impact.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and integration of marketing initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Support the Director of Marketing with identifying strategic partnerships with influencers, affiliates, media outlets, and other relevant partners to extend reach and drive brand awareness and customer acquisition.
- Manage the marketing budget effectively, allocating resources strategically to maximize ROI and achieve business goals.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing roles, with at least 10 years in a leadership position. Experience in the fitness, health, wellness, or lifestyle industries is preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that drive business results.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in developing marketing campaigns and initiatives that resonate with target audiences and differentiate the brand in the market.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize marketing performance.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies effectively to internal teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape in the health and wellness industry.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $200,000-$275,000/year depending on experience. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
