Opportunity Overview
In this role, the Graphic Designer will be tasked with creating high-quality visual content in collaboration with each of S.I.R’s core departments: Marketing Research, Strategic Consulting, and Creative Services. The Graphic Designer will have the opportunity to participate in projects both externally and internally, contributing to the development and reinforcement of our client’s and S.I.R’s brand identities. This also includes working closely with S.I.R’s web and social media team to develop weekly graphic-driven content and templates that can be used in both paid and organic digital campaigns.
In addition to design expertise, candidates must be excellent communicators and writers who are multi-taskers, self-starters, and able to meet tight deadlines. In addition, they should be team players, eager learners, and flexible problem solvers.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Marketing Collateral and Reports: Create a variety of print and digital marketing materials across a variety of platforms and mediums. Ensure that all materials adhere to brand guidelines and are effective in engaging target audiences. These can include digital ads, logos, research reports, whitepapers, brochures, flyers, maps, and other deliverables.
- Brand Development: Co-manage brand development initiatives, shape visual identities that align with strategic goals, and assist with eventual implementation and/or placement.
- Data Visualization and Infographics: Design and develop infographics, data visualizations, and models that simplify complex information into digestible and attractive visuals. Collaborate closely with S.I.R.’s research team to translate data into compelling graphic content when appropriate.
- Video Production and Support: Collaborate with S.I.R’s video production team on projects to develop simple animations and other kinetic elements as needed.
- Social Media Content: Manage the design and production of collateral specifically formatted for social media platforms, aligning with ongoing marketing strategies and campaigns, while also maintaining the current best practices for each algorithm.
- Website Visual Content: Service the visual aspects of websites, designing and updating graphics and layouts to improve user experience and engagement. Work in tandem with web developers to ensure aesthetics and also support optimal functionality.
Education and Related Work Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional, paid experience in graphic design, with a proven track record in brand development and data visualization (infographics, etc.). A portfolio is required.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects)
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word) experience required
- Strong command of design principles, typography, and color theory – with the ability to explain these points to audiences with varying degrees of familiarity.
- The ability to co-lead or independently work on projects within timelines and budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary:
The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, and education, and ranges from $60K to $65K.
