About Us
In 1962, the Iskenderians founded Zankou Chicken in Beirut, Lebanon to serve fresh, quality, and wholesome food with convenience. Our restaurant was a hole in the wall, and all we served was rotisserie chicken, but it got so popular with the locals that it would sell out every night. To ensure that they got their food, guests from all over Beirut would buy a ticket in the morning to reserve their rotisserie chicken for an evening pick up.
62 years later, the Iskenderians still own and operate Zankou Chicken, operating 13 locations in L.A. and Orange Counties. Through hard work, perseverance, luck, and incredible team members, we have been blessed with a loyal fanbase, achieving local accolades like “The Best Mediterranean” and “The Best Chicken”, as well as regional ones like Food & Wine Magazine’s “The Best Regional Fast Food in California” in 2022.
Our Vision
At Zankou Chicken, our vision is to create the best fast-casual experience in taste, convenience, and value, inspiring excellence worldwide. Many industries have lost the drive to serve others, and poor performance has become more common. However, some companies still inspire us with their exceptional treatment of team members and guests. With the right leadership, people can be motivated to excel, and in turn, inspire others. We aim to be such a company that inspires both our team and our guests.
