Victory Junction is a year-round camp facility that provides fully accessible on-site and off-site programming for children with complex medical conditions at no cost to their families. Victory Junction's adaptive, intentional programming includes summer camp, family weekends, day programs, equine therapy, pediatric patient outreach, and partner programs. By removing all barriers, Victory Junction welcomes children with serious illnesses and chronic medical conditions to experience camp fun, all in a medically-safe environment. Victory Junction is a member of SeriousFun Children's Network and is accredited by the American Camp Association.
Job Description
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a senior level position providing leadership, strategic direction and execution of all organizational marketing and communication initiatives. The CMO brings strategy, innovation and a creative approach to effectively bring greater awareness to Victory Junction’s mission and impact. The CMO creates marketing and communications strategies that advance Victory Junction’s brand, supports fundraising and recruitment efforts and engages target audiences. The CMO leads, manages, and creates the culture for the marketing team of four. The CMO is responsible for developing the marketing and communications plan, budget and results.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Develop and oversee all marketing strategic initiatives including short, mid and long term measurable objectives
- Oversee the marketing budget and ensure the marketing department operates within approved budget while focusing on meeting strategic goals
- Oversee the development and coordination of all Victory Junction collateral and communications across all departments
- Responsible for the development and management of the Victory Junction brand and ensure that the brand standards are followed, both internally and externally
- Provide leadership, coaching and development opportunities to marketing employees
- Manage and execute Victory Junction’s crisis communications plan
- Collaborate with other departments to create strategies that promote fundraising, recruitment and brand awareness
- Manage media relationships and secure media placements locally, regionally, and nationally
- Promote, contribute, and actively participate in a positive, professional culture for all

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant work experience with five years in management-level role preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of marketing, communication, and public relations
- Demonstrated ability developing and implementing strategies alongside organizational leaders including Board of Directors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of the organization
- Demonstrated ability supervising successful teams
- Superior customer services skills
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the company
- Ability to communicate using written reports and business correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before internal and external individuals or groups
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving complex situations, including first aid and crisis intervention
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to pay close attention to detail for accuracy and thoroughness in completing work
- Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work
- Ability to work independently
