The Email Marketing Specialist will play an integral role in the planning and execution of marketing emails. This is an exciting and diverse role that includes a mix of project management, technical expertise, and creative problem solving. Position Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and working with other members of the marketing team, the Email Marketing Specialist will have the following key responsibilities:
Email Marketing:
- Develops and manages the organization’s email calendar, inclusive of all audiences and segments.
- Collaborates closely with the Associate Director of Technology to identify and prioritize key data points required for segmentation.
- Collaborates closely with the Marketing Managers to define audiences, build automated data extensions, and create and deploy emails.
- Responsible for data imports.
- Reports on email performance and brings data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to the marketing team
- Creates, tests, and QAs journeys.
- Responsible for keeping email lists clean for improved deliverability and engagement.
- Collaborates closely with design to create beautiful templates.
Administrative:
- Manages email-related requests in Asana.
- Maintains the content library.
- Responsible for managing platform(s) and related budget(s).

- Marketing experience in higher education, event management, or membership community.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Technical experience managing large data sets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects seamlessly.
- Attention to detail, responsiveness, flexibility, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Tenacity in learning new skills, identifying solutions, and resolving issues.

Required Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3+ years of work experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- 2+ years of experience with Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud
- Ability to travel to and assist with live events as needed.

Job Environment:
