Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and talented Video Editor with a sense of humor to join our growing organization. As a Video Editor on the creative team, you’ll be responsible for editing editorial and branded content for new shows and one-off projects across our portfolio. In this role, you’ll be editing social videos in all formats for various platforms such Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. The Video Editor will work with original footage produced by internal and freelance teams, as well as UGC content, and more.
Our ideal candidate has strong technical skills and excellent creative instincts. They love collaborating with others to come up with the best content possible, but you’re also capable of working independently and efficiently. They’re someone who’s adaptable and driven, and excited by the idea of working in a fast-paced start-up.
Responsibilities:
- Your goal will be to edit highly engaging, entertaining, visually fresh content that excites our existing followers and attracts new ones, and captures the show’s voice and tone across a variety of formats and platforms
- Working with a range of short form, social-first video formats to create best-in-class, wildly fun, and highly engaging content — from person-on-the-street style interviews to in studio shoots
- Receiving and addressing feedback on edit from internal stakeholders
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines to deliver videos as scheduled
- Supplying your own ideas for original content, and working with other team members to bring their creative ideas to life
- Working closely with analytics — using them to develop best practices and help build a loyal, highly engaged audience of rabid fans for our brand
- Keeping performance goals top of mind, and making sure you hit or exceed them
- Staying close to other team members to share ideas, successes and challenges across departments and brands
Qualifications:
- 3+ years creating comparable content for a brand, publisher, or company
- Excellent video editing skills
- A familiarity with and/or appreciation of the accounts/s under the Doing Things umbrella
- Demonstrated track record of optimizing social-first content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
- Experience with humorous content that’s social-first around themes such as dating, health + fitness, city life, and local culture is a plus
- Highly proficient in Adobe Premiere, and proficient in Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator
- Familiarity with Adobe Audition and motion graphics experience is a plus
- Knowledge of best practices in media management and workflows
- Strong creative instincts and abilities when it comes to enhancing video footage, including color correction/grading and sound mixing
- An understanding of how business and creative can work together, and how things like ad sales contribute to your ability to make great content
- A professional background and/or interest in new media, internet culture, social media, etc
- A desire to work in a fast-paced company and ability to stay ahead of social media trends

The base salary for this position at the time of posting will range from $65,000 to $75,000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
