About Our Founder
Gucci Westman has more than 20 years of professional experience as a major editorial makeup artist, contributing to publications like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Position Summary
The Senior Design & Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of brand design projects. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure brand consistency and project alignment with business objectives. As a member of the Store Design and Visual Merchandising team, this person will contribute compelling, on-brand, best-in-class creative work to a high standard of execution. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with strong project management skills, a keen eye for design, and a solid engineering background to enhance technical project aspects. This person will report directly to the VP of Store Design and Visual Merchandising.
Responsibilities:
- Produce technical drawings and plans for brand-related projects such as store design and brand activations
- Develop creative and functional designs that align with brand’s identity and strategic objectives
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, marketing, and external agencies to translate design concepts into detailed plans and specifications; ensure alignment with brand integrity + standards
- Participate in project meetings to understand requirements and provide technical insights; Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Apply design and engineering principles to optimize design functionality and feasibility within a commercial and retail setting
- Monitor project progress, addressing any issues that arise to ensure timely execution within scope + budget
- Effectively communicate project status, milestones and risks to key stakeholders, providing regular updates and commendations for course corrections as needed
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and quality control to enhance brand design processes, and maintain high standards of excellence
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Project Management or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within a design, engineering, or marketing environment
- Luxury brand experience a major plus
- Strong understanding of branding, visual design principles, engineering concepts, and marketing strategies
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Excellent communication, time-management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal + external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate issues, identify solutions, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
