Role Overview:
The VP of Marketing at Read will be the leader in defining and executing our brand vision, community engagement, and public relations strategies. This individual will be responsible for building our brand presence, fostering a loyal community, and ensuring that Read resonates deeply with our consumers. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of brand management expertise and insights into consumer behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that elevates the company’s presence in the direct-to-consumer market
- Lead brand management initiatives to ensure consistency and alignment across all consumer touchpoints
- Build and lead a team to create and implement strategic marketing initiatives
- Drive community engagement efforts, fostering relationships with our audience and cultivating prosumer messaging
- Oversee public relations activities to enhance brand visibility and reputation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate brand messaging into product development and marketing strategies
- Leverage insights from community interactions to inform brand positioning and strategy
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in developing and leading marketing strategies within direct-to-consumer brands in the SaaS or consumer space. Bonus points for experience in both SaaS and consumer marketing or for having created strategies within the AI space
- At least 2 years of experience in a startup or pre-IPO company, ideally with exposure to hyper-growth and the complexities of early-stage startups
- Experience utilizing data to create strong PLG strategies that leverage our product for customer acquisition, retention, and expansion
- Proven track record of building and managing a strong in-house team, as well as managing vendor or agency relationships
- Strong understanding of direct-to-consumer marketing to convert users into long-term customers
- Experience developing enterprise marketing strategies, specifically in email marketing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building relationships and engaging audiences
- Monitor and report on growth metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team remains on target

The annual total cash compensation range is $150,000 to $200,000; however, actual salaries can vary based on qualifications, skills, and competencies.
