VP Sales – HBL America Inc.

HBL is a leading industrial battery manufacturer serving the power, railroad, defense and aviation markets with specialized energy storage systems and engineered battery solutions. We serve a range of global industrial and transportation customers as well as utilities and oil and gas markets.

Due to retirement of our long-term VP, we are seeking a new VP Sales to head our US sales and distribution team based in our central Connecticut facility. The position reports to the Executive Director International Business.

HBL established our US office and service facility 12 years ago – and it is now able to scale up its sales efforts having gained acceptance of our products in key markets. The VP will lead the sales team in Manchester, CT, and continue to add resources as we grow.

Key tasks will include –

Business development and sales to new customers in USA. Growing the top line.
Leadership and expansion of the US based sales force.
Client visits across the NAFTA region in pursuit of sales
Management of customer service and support.
Contract management

Qualifications and experience required:

A bachelor’s degree in a related engineering/science discipline (electrical, electronics, mechanical or chemistry).

A successful track record in battery or power electronics sales or alternatively B2B sales of capital equipment/technical products – ideally to major engineering clients.

5 years+ experience of leading sales teams and successfully delivering on sales targets

An entrepreneurial style to find new opportunities

Excellent communications skills – the ability to confidently deliver technical seminars to professional engineers and other stakeholders at customer sites

Enthusiasm to be multi-tasking in a small team

The willingness to travel domestically on a regular basis to meet customers – and occasionally internationally to visit the parent company.
