Western Digital is a leading provider of consumer storage products that empower people to capture, preserve, access, and share their digital content. The Western Digital flash business unit is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Product Marketing to lead our growth initiatives across data center, client, and device product segments. This pivotal role will work closely with product development, sales, operations, and corporate marketing teams to establish and execute the vision for our enterprise and client device businesses.
Reporting to the VP Product Marketing/GM of Consumer , this role will be instrumental in constructing and delivering full lifecycle marketing plans for our data center and AI-focused product lines. As the demand for enterprise-grade storage and AI solutions continues to surge, this represents a significant opportunity to drive business impact.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive product marketing strategies, including messaging, positioning, and go-to-market plans.
- Identify new target markets and craft tailored content and campaigns to attract customers and enable the sales team.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure timely, high-quality product launches that meet evolving customer needs.
- Create thought leadership content and strategies to enhance brand perception and awareness in the enterprise and client segments.
- Interface with corporate marketing and develop core NPI content.
- Lead long-term vision for product brand positioning and industry thought leadership.
- Develop and implement training programs to empower sales and field teams on data center SSD offerings.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- 10+ years of product marketing or related experience in the storage/technology industry, with a proven track record of successful product launches.
- Demonstrable expertise in enterprise and hyperscale data center storage markets, including familiarity with server, storage, and ecosystem products.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Ownership and development of customer-facing materials such as presentations, white papers, and competitive positioning.
- Experience leading small to medium-sized teams (5-10 professionals) and driving organizational improvements.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand the impact of decisions on P&L and identify value-creating opportunities.
