We’re currently seeking a Marketing Manager to join our Student Affairs’ Health and Well-being teams in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. Here's What You Need to Know About the Role:
1) You’ll be serving as the marketing manager for our well-being teams, which include Cook Counseling Center, Hokie Wellness, Residential Well-being, and Schiffert Health Center.
2) You’ll be reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing for health & well-being.
3) You’ll be working collaboratively with a team on all marketing and communications for our health and well-being areas and will be responsible for the development and execution of the marketing and social media efforts of the health and well-being communications strategy.
4) You’ll guide a team of student interns to uplift messaging around Hokie Wellness, Cook Counseling, Schiffert Health Center, and Residential Well-being, specifically through social media and marketing.
5) You’ll bring innovative and creative ideas to the communications and marketing team and stay current with emerging technologies, platforms, and social media trends and best practices.
6) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
7) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $47,000 - $53,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, media relations or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in marketing and managing social media channels on multiple platforms with strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social media, including content creation and scheduling.
• Recent portfolio showing marketing initiatives and social media content creation you’ve executed.
• Experience with photography and capturing videos for social media purposes.
• A strong commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity as aligned within the Division of Student Affairs, InclusiveVT, and Virginia Tech.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with communications and marketing in a university setting.
• Experience producing content for social media channels, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Experience working within a project management system.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, working independently and as part of a team on multiple tasks and projects; including the ability to prioritize projects and tasks based on workflow and current deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
