Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing (Youtube)
The Disney Entertainment segment includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content businesses globally, including streaming.
The Digital Marketing team oversees the creative and programming of Disney Entertainment’s General Audience (GA) YouTube channels. The team is responsible for creative content development and production, channel strategy, program planning, publishing, and channel operations. Additionally, this team works closely with Brand and Franchise, Studios, Consumer Products, Governance, Legal, Music, and Finance. The team manages channel operations and is responsible for adhering to TWDC and YouTube policies.
Job Summary:
The Senior Manager will support The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing team in developing and executing GA YouTube channel creative strategies.
The person should be well-versed in the YouTube ecosystem, with solid experience in digital content development and production. The role requires oversight and hands-on involvement to shepherd content development through ideation, all stages of production, and to delivery--within budget and on time. The ideal candidate will prove to identify relevant formats, trends, and best practices, which is key to developing on-brand, engaging, thumb/scroll-stopping content. The role will work in concert with the VP to oversee channel content planning such that content creative, production, and delivery must align to meet content programming calendars and vision in support of franchise priorities and timelines.
The role requires an understanding and appreciation of TWDC brands and franchises so that the content produced upholds brand standards such as voice, style, and tone, and delivers upon expectations set forth by the Digital Marketing team. The senior manager should expect to partner with Brand and other creative stakeholders who have an interest in the GA YouTube segment of the business.
The senior manager will collaborate with LOBs such as Brand, Franchise, Music, and Consumer Products to ensure all GA YouTube long and short-form content supports strategies, aligns with larger company-wide goals, and is geared towards global audience growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead creative development and production of long and short-form video content (VOD, live streams, and YT Shorts)--as well as community content and engagement--for GA YouTube channels, timely and within budget
- Manage content strategy, planning to align production and delivery of final assets with programming calendars in support of franchise priorities and timelines
- Uphold and adhere to brand guidelines when creating content, ensuring videos are consistently on-brand in voice, style, and tone—while also pushing formats, trends, and opportunities to meet ever-evolving platform and fan tastes
- Collaborate with Studios, Brand, Franchise, Consumer Productions, Music, and Digital Marketing teams throughout the content lifecycle to ensure content delivers upon expectations
- Engage, collaborate, and manage relationships with 3rd party creative and platform partners to create engaging content and identify new opportunities
- Route all assets to necessary stakeholders for internal approval (Legal, Brand & Franchise, etc.)
- Develop and produce content that can travel internationally and across platforms in support of the brand/franchise strategies and priorities
- Manage and collaborate with a growing team dedicated to executing the GA YouTube channel strategies
Required Skills
- Experience in long- and short-form content development and production for fiction and non-fiction video
- Passion for and track record creating fun & engaging content and story-telling
- Outstanding project management, organization, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of digital platforms and trends, specifically YouTube
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a matrixed organization
- Ability to manage a team, as well as roll up effectively to leadership
- Efficient with time with the ability to meet deadlines and self-direct time management
- Proficient in Keynote/PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere
- Team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to be nimble
- Familiarity, knowledge, and passion for Disney Brands a plus
Required Experience/Education
- 7+ years’ relevant experience with content development and production, preferably in digital
- 3+ years experience managing teams and the professional development of professionals
- AA or BA in Digital Marketing, Marketing, or business admin/relevant degree preferred
- Solid understanding and interest in YouTube and social media platforms
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $130,800.00 to $175,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
