The Studios Internal Communications team develops strategic campaigns and communication vehicles to keep employees at all levels around the globe informed, engaged, and inspired. With additional responsibility for internal events and executive communications, this nimble, creative, and optimistic team develops fresh ideas to move the company’s culture and priorities forward.
The
Communications Specialist works collaboratively with teams to engage employees around the world. This role supports a broad range of communications activities including internal events, segment-wide e-blasts, the company's relentless commitment to diversity and inclusion, and other day-to-day operations. If selected, you will report to the Senior Manager, Communications.

What You Will Do
- Create, ideate, research, and publish creative content and stories for digital internal platforms including written articles, short & long form videos related to business updates, content announcements, HR/enterprise initiatives, uplifting news, and more.
- Assist with employee events including screenings, executive Q&A’s, networking opportunities, panels, and other offerings for tied to company initiatives.
- Find new ways to increase adoption of digital platforms that further advances culture through the development of editorial vehicles including intranet, articles, newsletters, e-blasts, invites, and materials that support communications events, projects, and initiatives.
- Seek new ways to increase connection with employees by developing original content that elevates the stories of our employees through videos and written spotlights, providing our people and executives with a platform to make their voices, stories, and contributions to our segment heard.
- Create, maintain, and organize information on digital platforms (project management tools, intranet pages, hubs for segment/enterprise-wide initiatives, and more).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience professional experience in related field
- A portfolio of communications projects that showcases skill, mastery of grammar rules, and ability to adapt tone/style to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrate excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills while collaborating with colleagues across departments at all levels
- Well organized, with strong relationship building and time management skills
- Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and effectively work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to pitch in and help the team on all projects to meet critical deadlines
- Able to work independently but confident enough to ask for guidance and input when needed
- Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Event planning or coordination experience
- Digital design and/or digital production experience
- Experience growing communications platforms and tools that can foster large audience adoption
- Proficiency with web, photo, and other multimedia software (such as WordPress, etc.)
- An overall appreciation for the Disney brand!
Education
- BA or BS required, preferably with a background in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $76,300 to $95,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
