We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).We are looking for a Creative Director to join UnitedMasters!What You'll DoOwn the creative expression of UnitedMasters, ensuring our brand, design, and messaging win both the hearts and minds of a thriving community of independent artistsOversee the evolution of UnitedMasters brand book and style guide (in collaboration with our partners at Translation), ensuring we have differentiated positioning, messaging, and visual design that are consistent across, yet optimized for, all artist touch pointsLead the design and creative functions for Marketing, owning creative production across brand touch-points, audiences, and campaigns, including landing pages, digital marketing, email, social, and eventsPartner with Marketing stakeholders (brand, growth, product marketing, lifecycle) to produce best-in-class creative that is not only emotionally resonant but performant, driving both affinity and adoption among our target audienceImplement a data-first approach to creative, utilizing data to both inform and evaluate creative, continuously learning and iterating based on performanceBuild a rigorous, strong design culture and process - ensuring our team, tools, project management and operations are optimized for the evolving needs of the businessPartner closely with key cross-functional stakeholders (Product Design, Event Marketing, Artist Marketing, Brand & Partnerships, etc) to ensure consistency across all channels, providing design support and/or guidance as neededPartner with Translation team to ensure UnitedMasters creative ladders into broader UnitedMasters+Translation brand, and to identify opportunities to partner on larger brand creative developmentBuild, manage, and mentor a creative team (both in-house and freelance as needed) - identifying short-term and long-term hiring needs to efficiently meet business goalsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to manage multiple on-going projects, be flexible to change, and adapt to shifting prioritiesAbility to operate and deliver with limited resources, understanding how to be scrappy in short-term while planning and building toward the long-term needs of the organizationAbility to communicate effectively with all levels, including senior leadershipAbility to execute on priorities with a strong sense of urgency, ownership and accountabilityUnderstanding of the latest digital trends and formats, how to optimize creative for each, and have a test & learn approachPassion for managing and mentoring high-performing teamsPortfolio of creative campaigns and work required to be consideredMinimum Qualifications6+ years experience leading marketing creative, in-house and/or at an agencyProven experience defining or evolving brand identity (including branding, style guide, creative toolkit, brand voice/messaging guidelines)Experience building creative for multi-channel campaigns (paid social, digital banners, email, OOH, etc), with strong emphasis on digital/performance marketing Preferred Qualifications3+ years experience at a digital/subscription business5+ years experience hiring and directly managing high-performing creative teams3+ years experience marketing to creators strongly preferred2+ years of experience working in-house at a startup or public tech companyExperience in the music industry a plusBachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience About UnitedMasters, Inc.UnitedMasters Inc. represents the creative solutions company, Translation, and the leading software and services platform for independent creators, UnitedMasters. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.
