Role Description
This is a part-time remote role. We’re looking for a proactive and creative Social Media Assistant to join our team. This role will focus on assisting with video editing for client content and engagement across client platforms, amongst other things like caption writing or hashtag research, helping us deliver outstanding results for our clients.
Responsibilities:
Video Editing Support:
- Edit short-form content for social media platforms (Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts), ensuring on-trend visuals and engaging storytelling.
- Repurpose and reformat content for multiple platforms.
- Add graphics, text overlays, transitions, and captions to enhance video engagement.
- Work with the creative director to ensure video edits align with client brand guidelines.
Social Media Engagement:
- Monitor client social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.) and engage with their audiences by liking, commenting, and replying to messages or comments.
- Identify opportunities to interact with potential followers and brand collaborators to grow client accounts organically.
- Conduct hashtag research and identify trends for improved content reach.
- Track engagement metrics and provide insights for improvements.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and best practices for content and engagement.
- Creative eye for visuals, storytelling, and social-first editing styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engagement tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client accounts efficiently.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic design experience with Canva or similar tools for creating simple graphics or thumbnails.
- Experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Planoly, Hootsuite).
- Understanding of analytics and insights on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
