We are seeking a strong and experienced marketing professional who will help manage key aspects of the corporate marketing function and create value for the Carrier brand and brands within the Carrier portfolio. They must excel across the marketing spectrum from developing marketing/brand strategy through project execution. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully work across a matrix organization and manage a diverse set of internal stakeholders. They will be able to influence others within Carrier’s portfolio of businesses and work with marketing leaders around the globe. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Marketing, WHQ.
About the role
The Associate Director, Strategic Brand Marketing will play a key role in analyzing Carrier’s brand perception through customer insights to drive relevant positioning and communication of Carrier’s corporate brand position and value proposition externally. By leading brand research projects and reporting results to executives, this role will inform improvement opportunities for building brand equity. Additionally, this role will drive corporate branding initiatives through Carrier’s businesses including applying branding strategy and guidelines. Success in this role means owning activities to support the improvement of the brand perception.
This role will provide guidance to global marketing employees about Carrier marketing standard work and guidelines to drive marketing best practices. The Associate Director, Strategic Brand Marketing will be responsible for strategic projects targeted at new marketing approaches, branding and positioning strategies, and opportunities across and among businesses. This could include understanding and accounting for new evolutions of digital brand management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the global marketing strategic plan
- Collaborate and partner with Business Units on key marketing initiatives
- Review customer sentiment and brand position metrics to monitor brand health
- Understand key performance metrics and leverage insights to deliver business results
- Influence internal stakeholders to drive alignment between BU initiatives and corporate initiatives
- Ensure the Carrier web properties accurately portray the Carrier brand
- Guide functional program managers on effective and impactful marketing mix
- Partner with global business marketing and communications managers to ensure integration with regional marketing plans and campaigns
- Manage brand standards and advise on branding for 75+ brands
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns for functional partners
- Regularly review competitors marketing approach and market trends
- Provide coaching and guidance for direct report(s)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8 + years of experience in marketing/brand management roles
- 4 + years of experience with marketing strategy and go-to-market strategies.
- 2 + years of experience with strategic branding and positioning
- 2 + years of experience in managing agencies, external vendors, and partners.
- 2 + years of proven ability to excel in a dynamic matrixed structure.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA preferred.
- Experience in a Fortune 500 company with a global footprint
- Demonstrated understanding of various marketing disciplines such as product launches, advertising, positioning, promotions, marketing communications, and marketing programs (direct mail, web, trade shows & events).
- High competencies in the O365 suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint
- Proven experience working with executive customers/stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Applies broad knowledge and seasoned experience when addressing complex issues; takes all critical information into account when making recommendations and decisions.
- Experience in directing graphic design, collateral development, vendor management, copywriting, and multimedia.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a collaborative product/program definition process based on a thorough understanding of customer requirements, competitive offerings, potential partners, company strategy, emerging technology and marketing trends worldwide.
