Affordable Art Fair is seeking to hire a dynamic, organized, and proactive individual to support our marketing team to attract visitors to two New York fairs and one Boston fair per year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art, love of marketing execution, and a collaborative attitude.

The Affordable Art Fair formula is simple – a relaxed, approachable environment in which people feel confident to explore, learn about, and buy contemporary art under a transparent ceiling price. Founded in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair is the world’s biggest art fair organizer and now hosts fairs in 14 cities annually around the world, including London, New York, Hong Kong, Hamburg, Sydney, and Austin. The Role

This role’s primary objective is executing the marketing plan to ensure we attract visitors to Affordable Art Fairs in New York City and Boston. The Marketing Coordinator will support the Marketing Manager on executing the plan, which focuses on building content on social media, emails, marketing materials, and the website. The role is also instrumental in ensuring a smooth visitor experience from ticketing and invites through onsite engagement. The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with our experienced New York-based fair team as well as our global marketing team.

The Marketing Coordinator will report into the Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate has a proactive attitude, love of promoting art, eye for detail and the ability to work a hybrid schedule based in New York City.

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation

Helping create and execute the marketing plan
Managing social media to build a community of engaged art lovers
Writing compelling copy for all B2C channels as required (e.g. website, social, email, blogs, printed collateral)
Building emails to raise awareness and visits to our three fairs in NYC and Boston.
Updating the website to promote our galleries and their artists, What’s On, and provide more in-depth information in our blogs

Marketing

Support execution of the marketing plan
Support creation of marketing materials through design briefing process, production and distribution
Support with creation of advertising assets required for campaign by briefing into design and distributing to relevant parties
Support partnership promotion, ensuring all requirements are delivered
Support with collation of PR and marketing materials from participating galleries
Lead the production of gallery booth signs, working with the gallery, Fair Manager, and design team to ensure accuracy
Learn all marketing systems (Box, Later, Basecamp, Active Campaign, Humanitix)

Ticketing & Box Office

Learn all ticketing and invitation processes and systems
Respond to customer queries, managing the general email inbox
Help set up and manage onsite box office equipment
Lead onsite ticket desk with Marketing Manager
Manage Box Office Fair Assistants alongside the Marketing Manager
Be available to assist visitors at the Box Office / venue entrance when needed to ensure an exceptional visitor experience

THE ROLE REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES

Entry level role with willingness to learn and develop
Knowledge or familiarity with social media and content creation
Customer service experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, high efficiency, and practical organisational skills
Ability to work independently while being an active team member
Ability and multitask, working well under pressure to meet deadlines
Excel experience a bonus
Capcut or other video editing skills a bonus

THE DETAILS

Salary: $50,000 – 55,000 (annual), plus bonus potential
Competitive benefits: health insurance, vacation/PTO package
Based in NYC – full time, hybrid (our team works 3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home)
Evening and weekend work will be required; in these instances, we provide time off in lieu (TOIL)
Candidate is required to travel to the Boston fair in October
