We’re looking for a creative, community-minded person to help tell the story of Ace Handyman Services Sandhills. Your goal will be to build local trust, showcase our craftsmen’s work, and keep our services top-of-mind for homeowners and businesses throughout the Sandhills.

This flexible, part-time role is a great fit for someone who enjoys local storytelling, photography, digital marketing, and connecting with people. You’ll work directly with the owner and our team, bringing fresh ideas to our local marketing while following the guidelines of a trusted national brand.

About us

Ace Handyman Services Sandhills serves Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Carthage, Vass, and surrounding communities. We take pride in skilled workmanship, dependable service, and clear communication. We believe in treating our customers and employees with respect, and we want our marketing to reflect that commitment.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and maintain a monthly social media and marketing calendar.
  • Gather before-and-after photos, short videos, and project stories from our craftsmen, including occasional visits to local job sites.
  • Create friendly, helpful content for Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant local channels, including Nextdoor.
  • Highlight completed projects, customer feedback, team members, and seasonal services.
  • Help keep our Google Business Profile current with photos, updates, and business information.
  • Respond to social media comments and messages and direct service inquiries to our office.
  • Help create customer emails, promotional materials, and review responses.
  • Coordinate approved community outreach, seasonal promotions, and customer appreciation efforts.
  • Help develop referral relationships with local businesses, real estate professionals, and community organizations.
  • Track engagement and customer inquiries, and recommend practical improvements.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong writing skills and a friendly, professional communication style.
  • Practical experience using Facebook and Instagram and an understanding of how businesses connect with local audiences.
  • An eye for clean, well-lit photos and steady smartphone video.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet an agreed posting schedule.
  • Reliable transportation for occasional visits to job sites and local events.
  • Good judgment when representing our business and handling customer photos and information.

Helpful experience

  • Managing social media or marketing for a small business.
  • Using Canva or similar design tools and basic video editing apps.
  • Working on community outreach or local promotions.
  • An interest in home improvement, DIY projects, or the trades.

Examples of your work matter more than a particular degree.

What success looks like

You’ll help us build a consistent local presence, share the quality of our work, strengthen community connections, and generate qualified customer inquiries. We’ll look at both the content you create and the customer conversations it helps produce.
