We Believe in Unlimited Potential.
At Bradford Consulting Group, we believe that organizations advancing communities have unlimited potential, and we exist to help them unlock it. We are seeking a Principal Consultant in Community Partnerships & Marketing who will own this discipline for the firm internally, and lead client work externally through positioning, storytelling, and partnership development.
Bradford Consulting Group is a rapidly growing firm serving more than 48 clients in the last three years across the Midwest and the Carolinas. The Principal Consultant is the firm's definitive authority on community partnerships and marketing: accountable for the methodology and systems, the quality standard, and how the discipline is practiced on every engagement it touches, while remaining a hands-on client delivery role. You will be the subject matter expert within the firm and drive our work and standard under partnerships and marketing.
As a consultant of the firm, you will guide clients through Bradford Consulting Group's Arc of Engagement, our disciplined practice of active listening, deliberate studying, intensive planning, swift action, and a long-term eye towards sustainability and growth.
What You'll Own
- Own the community partnerships and marketing discipline. Be the firm's authority on positioning, storytelling, audience strategy, and communications planning, and be accountable for how well that work is practiced across every BCG engagement.
- Continuously improve the method. Be a student of your craft and strive to improve and inform BCG's approach to partnerships and marketing so it is repeatable and teachable to clients and colleagues.
- Lead the room on anchor engagements. Serve as engagement lead on the firm's marketing and partnership work, including sponsorship and strategic partnership programs, brand positioning engagements and market-growth clients. You will be a senior point of contact, lead strategy and positioning, and participate in all facets of client engagement.
- Strengthen every proposal you touch. Scope and price marketing and partnership work accurately, and contribute to the firm's business development pipeline.
- Deliver. At least 75% of the role will be client-facing, with the remaining time dedicated to innovating the systems and methodology, and coaching our internal teams.
Who You Are
- 12+ years in marketing, sponsorship sales management, communications, or brand leadership, including experience building a practice, program or line of business.
- Experience selling and delivering marketing and community partnership work to public-sector, destination, institutional, or nonprofit clients is preferred.
- Fluent in corporate partnership and sponsorship from the marketing side; you understand how companies decide what to fund, how programs are positioned and valued, and how partners are retained. Direct sponsorship experience is required.
- A sharp, clear writer and editor. You'll set the standard for how our clients sound.
- Comfortable leading a room alone (a council chamber, a boardroom, a mayor's office, an executive team) and able to tell a client what they actually need, instead of just executing what they asked for.
- A framework and method builder: you write down what works, teach it, and are glad when someone else delivers it well.
- A network in Central Indiana and/or the Midwest is a strong advantage.
- Aligned with how BCG works: embedded rather than outside, listening before proposing, and accountable for outcomes rather than a focus on deliverables.
Position Details
- Location: Hybrid-remote; 1 day/week required on-site at our Noblesville, IN office; in-person client work across Central Indiana; travel under 25%.
- Compensation: $90,000-$100,000 starting salary depending on experience, plus performance bonus.
- Benefits: Unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and professional development support.
- Reports to: Founder & CEO
