Role Description The Social Media Marketing Intern is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The intern will support the planning and execution of social media campaigns across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Day-to-day tasks include creating and scheduling posts, assisting with content calendars, engaging with followers, and responding to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner. The intern will help track performance metrics, compile basic analytics reports, and suggest improvements based on data and trends. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating with program staff to capture stories, photos, and videos, supporting digital marketing initiatives, and ensuring that all content aligns with the foundation’s mission and brand guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing, with a basic understanding of social platforms and online engagement.
- Skills in Social Media Content Creation, including writing captions, selecting visuals, and adapting content for different audiences.
- Foundational Marketing knowledge, including awareness of brand voice, audience targeting, and campaign planning.
- Clear and professional Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a relevant degree program (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field) preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic analytics tools (e.g., platform insights) and common scheduling tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in education, youth development, or nonprofit work is highly beneficial.
