About the Role
As the Oil and Gas Marketing Manager overseeing the Drilling & Completions (D&C) product portfolio, you will lead a high‑performing team to deeply understand market dynamics, customer needs, and emerging trends within the D&C segment. You will translate these insights into a strategic product portfolio that drives profitable growth for Cat equipment, services, and solutions. In this role, you will also be accountable for the successful delivery of all New Product Introduction (NPI) programs within the D&C segment. Your work will directly influence product strategy, competitive positioning, and long‑term business performance in the Oil & Gas sector. The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems, which may not be obvious. The incumbent solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions. Impacts key goals including OPACC growth, PINS, POPS-C, Customer Satisfaction, etc. The position works to develop innovative processes or methods to best use resources or technology in meeting these goals.

- This position requires working onsite five days a week
What Will You Do
- Overseeing research of multiple requests from business development leaders across the country
- Developing, recommending and implementing market research plans for key products and services; collaborating on brand positioning, databases and direct response
- Developing strategic plans for expansion of existing brands and development of new products or services; coordinating the implementation of plans
- Presenting overall marketing plans and strategic direction for region to senior management for funding approval and support.
- Provide leadership and direction to a multi-function team to create a vision for segment success and translate it into a 3-5-10 year product and segment strategy and functional plan
- Support the long-term forecast process by collaborating with region and industry teams, leading and leveraging market research, and building market and PINS models. Utilize results to make strategic product recommendations and collaborate with product teams
- Support the execution of new product programs (NTI and NPI) from concept through to introduction
- Influence upper management within Caterpillar to adapt or change policies, hire personnel, and implement organizational structure changes.
- Apply component capabilities and customer needs to find solutions for various customer segments
- Interact with high-level professionals (internal and external) and exhibit effective relationship building and communication skills
- Call on leaders in major associations with upper dealer management to influence business climate
- Support sales, key accounts, service, and pricing strategy
- Manage a team of primarily management/professional employees where monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required, as well as training, developing, and mentoring. Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.
- Apply product and industry knowledge in support of Caterpillar, dealer, and customer expectations and is exposed to near-term strategic planning within a 0-18-month horizon
What Top Candidates Will Have
- Proven strategic leadership experience, with a strong track record of developing and executing marketing strategies that support business growth
- Deep expertise in the oil & gas sector, ideally within well services, drilling, or completions technologies
- Hands‑on experience with product commercialization, including New Product Introductions (NPI) and New Technology Introductions (NTI) within a technical or industrial environment
- Global market exposure, demonstrating the ability to operate effectively across diverse regions, customer segments, and cultural contexts
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross‑functional teams and influencing without authority
- Experience partnering with senior executives, including presenting insights, driving alignment, and supporting high‑impact decision‑making
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into compelling, customer‑focused messaging

Summary Pay Range
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
