About the Role

China Daily USA is seeking a creative, tech-savvy, and bilingual (English & Mandarin) Marketing & Digital Engagement Assistant to join our NYC team. This role bridges traditional marketing with digital innovation, focusing on subscription growth, multimedia content creation, and data-driven audience engagement. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to boost digital subscriptions and newsletter engagement.
  • Collaborate with IT and business partners to optimize subscription platforms and user experience.
  • Design and analyze digital marketing campaigns (social media, email, SEO/SEM) to attract new readers.
  • Create compelling visual/video content (concept to production) for social media (e.g., Instagram, TikTok).
  • Monitor campaign metrics and distribution data; generate actionable insights using Excel and analytics tools.
  • Assist in promotional events, trade shows, and audience outreach initiatives.
  • Provide customer support for subscriptions and maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting trends and opportunities.
  • Stay ahead of industry shifts in digital media, subscriptions, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Journalism, or related field.

Skills & Experience

  • 2–3 years in marketing, media, or a similar role.
  • Tech Proficiency: Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VBA a plus).
  • Multimedia Skills: Video shooting/editing (Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar), graphic design (Canva/Photoshop).
  • Social media savvy: Hands-on experience managing platforms and understanding audience analytics.
  • Strong communication skills (phone/email) and customer service orientation.

Personal Traits

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple projects.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a creative mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with CMS tools (e.g., WordPress) or email marketing platforms (Mailchimp).
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM or paid social advertising.
