We are looking to add a Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Growth to our team!
LOCATION: Fully Remote (U.S.-based & occasional travel)
REPORTS TO: President and General Manager- Destination Pet
PAY: $175k - $200k/ salary
CORE RESPONSIBILITES:
Growth and Revenue Ownership
- Own B2C growth outcomes, including customer acquisition, retention, same-store revenue growth, and marketing-attributable revenue.
- Translate company-level goals into clear growth strategies, targets, and execution plans, testing hypotheses and assumptions along the way to ensure strategies are grounded in data and real-world performance.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the President/GM and executive leadership, utilizing organizational agility when influencing decisions.
- Provide clear, data-driven reporting and insights to leadership on growth performance, risks, and opportunities, with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
Multi-Brand & Local Market Strategy
- Design and operationalize a scalable multi-brand marketing model that supports 160+ local brands while preserving community relevance.
- Establish a game plan that balances consistency with local customization; adapting approaches as markets, competition, and company priorities evolve.
- Enable field leaders and local operators with tools, templates, and automation to execute effectively at the market level.
- Ensure marketing strategies are adaptable to varied competitive, demographic, and economic conditions, demonstrating comfort with change and ambiguity.
Performance Marketing & Revenue Growth
- Lead end-to-end performance marketing strategy across paid media, SEO, lifecycle marketing, & CRM.
- Drive:
- New customer acquisition
- Retention and loyalty growth
- Same-store growth in competitive or constrained markets
- Establish and own KPIs, dashboards, and growth forecasts tied directly to revenue and center economics.
- Continuously test, learn, and optimize across channels, offers, and funnel stages, challenging legacy approaches, and validating decisions through experimentation.
Campaign Strategy & Creative Leadership
- Lead and inspire a high-performing, cross-functional creative team (design, content, copy, video).
- Oversee the development of integrated brand, local, and internal campaigns—from strategy through execution while setting clear expectations and maintaining momentum against company objectives.
- Ensure all creative work aligns with brand standards, growth objectives, and measurable performance outcomes.
- Elevate creative quality while maintaining speed, scalability, and ROI discipline with a strong sense of urgency around execution.
Data, Analytics & Measurement
- Establish robust attribution, experimentation, and incrementality frameworks to assess true ROI across brands, channels, and markets.
- Use cohort analysis, LTV modeling, and funnel metrics to guide strategic decisions.
- Leverage insights to inform prioritization, resource allocation, and growth planning.
- Champion a culture of data-informed decision-making, where teams are encouraged to challenge the status quo and solve problems rigorously.
AI-Enabled Marketing & Innovation
- Lead the responsible adoption of AI across marketing functions, including personalization, content generation, experimentation, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with internal governance bodies to ensure ethical, scalable, and high-impact use of AI.
- Identify and pilot emerging tools and technologies that create durable growth advantages, remaining flexible as technology and capabilities evolve.
Cross-Functional & Operational Alignment
- Partner closely with Field Operations to align demand generation with capacity, service quality, and customer experience.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across functions and with local operators to ensure alignment and execution.
- Ensure marketing strategies support long-term retention and brand trust, not just short-term acquisition.
- Function as a unifying force between centralized teams and local operators.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive marketing or growth experience, with significant senior leadership responsibility.
- Proven history of owning and delivering growth outcomes, not just marketing activity.
- Experience operating in multi-location, multi-brand, franchise, or services-based businesses strongly preferred.
- Deep expertise in performance marketing, paid media, SEO, lifecycle marketing, analytics, and website optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems, evaluate and refine assumptions, and adjust direction quickly when needed.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to build effective relationships across levels and functions.
- Revenue-oriented, data-driven, and highly accountable mindset with a powerful sense of urgency to execute company objectives.
- Position is remote, however 25% travel is required to visit centers and to attend team meetings.
