Summary
This full-time position is part of GCB's Summer Internship Program, which is scheduled to run from, Monday, May 17th through Friday, July 23rd, potentially extending through mid-August based on the decision of the hiring manager and department. Additionally, interns must participate in a Final Internship Presentation located in New Orleans on Thursday, July 22nd. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program to ensure a consistent and meaningful learning experience.
As a Digital Marketing Intern, you'll gain real-world experience supporting the social media and email marketing efforts of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust. You'll help create engaging content, analyze campaign performance, and support initiatives that connect our brand with communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and scheduling social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) in accordance with brand guidelines.
- Monitor social media channels and engage with users to enhance community interaction.
- Support the development and deployment of email marketing campaigns using [insert tool if applicable, e.g., Mailchimp or HubSpot].
- Assist with content creation, such as blog drafts, social media graphics, or internal newsletter copy.
- Pull basic metrics from social and email platforms and help prepare performance reports.
- Stay current on social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills/Experience/Education
- Minimum preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree, recent graduates may be considered.
- Academic majors in Marketing, Business Administration, Graphic Design, or similar fields of study, preferred.
- Be a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possesses critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. Please note, Gulf Coast Bank & Trust will not provide any assistance or sign any documentation to support immigration sponsorship or benefit including but not limited to optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT).
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
