Marketing Manager

Manufacturing and Construction Organization

The ideal candidate is serve as the lead marketing executive. You will manage all marketing efforts including Creating, researching, and executing the marketing strategy for the business and its nationwide network of general contractors, with an emphasis on the following but not exclusive construction industries: Self-Storage, Hotel, Multi-family, Student Housing, Assisted Living. Supporting marketing for other products or audiences as assigned, and will be responsible for leading and mentoring the business unit marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as subject matter expert on the markets, audiences, customer segments, and products sold and furnished by creating insights-driven marketing plans, campaigns, and initiatives to align with business growth, customer experience, and profit objectives.
  • Conduct analysis of our customers, our capabilities, our competitors, and industry trends to develop annual plans and quarterly priorities.
  • Creates messaging and value propositions that resonate with customers and are backed with data and operational excellence.
  • Work in close partnership with division Management team and Sales to define business plans and then to execute against the plans to achieve planned results.
  • Drives growth of the contractor network for above industries.
  • Provide feedback to the business unit leadership and to the Innovation team about unmet customer needs, under served segments, or new product opportunities.
  • Evaluate our competitive position with regards to price, promotion, product, placement, and customer experience providing feedback to leadership and informing marketing plans and positioning.
  • Educate sales staff on how to talk about their products and services from their clients’ perspective.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership for marketing activities, closely partnering with distributed sales organization.
  • Lead business unit marketing team across all marketing facets: brand, content, creative, digital, event coordination, performance, and ROI.
  • Develop and mentor business unit marketing team to performance metrics and career advancement.
  • Promote our employee-ownership and open-book management culture.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in marketing, product marketing, integrated marketing, corporate strategy, or communications in a B2B environment.
  • 5 years’ experience in construction trades, industrial markets, manufacturing, or products sold through traditional, multi-tier sales channels. Prefer experience in building materials or commercial construction industries.
  • 3 years’ experience conducting primary and secondary research to gather insights.
  • 3 years’ experience leading new product launches.
  • 2 years’ experience working with trade or industry associations on marketing partnerships, including education, sponsorships, and events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, entrepreneurship, industrial engineering, finance, data analysis, or equivalent.
