Marketing and Events Specialist
RJW Logistics Group
Salary: $55,000 - 65,000 annually + MyShare Equity Program
Job Purpose
The Marketing & Events Specialist owns and leads RJW's internal marketing and employee engagement programs, as well as the company's events and sponsorship strategy. This role is responsible for developing and executing high-impact initiatives that support company culture, employee programs, brand visibility, and strategic growth objectives. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing & Events Specialist is accountable for outcomes, timelines, budgets, and program performance, and serves as the primary point of ownership for internal communications programs and event-related initiatives across the organization. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in determining internal communications, events, and sponsorship priorities without routine Director approval, within established business objectives. Authorized to approve program expenditures and vendor engagements within an approved budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Marketing & Employee Engagement
- Own the strategy, planning, and execution of internal marketing and employee engagement programs, including ongoing initiatives and major company-wide communications.
- Develop comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with organizational priorities, leadership messaging, and RJW's brand standards.
- Determine content, timelines, and distribution across internal channels to maximize employee awareness and participation.
- Make final determinations regarding internal communication approaches, messaging priorities, and program sequencing within established organizational guidelines.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with HR, leadership, and other internal teams to execute campaigns effectively.
Events & Sponsorships
- Own RJW's event and sponsorship portfolio, including strategy, selection, execution, and post-event evaluation.
- Lead all aspects of event planning and execution for hosted events, trade shows, and sponsored engagements, with full accountability for timelines, deliverables, and results.
- Selects vendors and sponsorship partners and negotiates scope of services within approved financial parameters.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee tracking and analysis of marketing performance metrics related to internal campaigns, events, and sponsorships to measure effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
- Evaluates financial performance, return on investment, and organizational impact when determining whether to modify, expand, or discontinue programs.
- Provide direction and guidance for GEO-related initiatives and ensure alignment with broader marketing strategies.
- Oversee creative asset needs related to internal marketing and events, coordinating with internal resources and external vendors to ensure quality and brand consistency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant marketing, communications, or event-related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and make decisions that impact program direction and resource allocation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Language Skills Sets
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Specialists, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
- Ability to be discerning and use proper judgment when solving complex problems.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- General understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
