Role Description
The Vice President of Sales will lead Ultra International’s U.S. commercial strategy, driving revenue growth across fragrance, flavors, cosmetics, and allied industries. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for building strategic customer partnerships, leading the U.S. sales organization, and ensuring alignment with global growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the flavor, fragrance, cosmetic, and organic sectors.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing clients to maximize retention and long-term revenue.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to deliver measurable year-over-year sales growth through new customer acquisition and account expansion.
- Lead and mentor the U.S. Sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Increase market penetration by identifying opportunities with small to mid-sized companies and emerging brands.
- Conduct market research to track industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Promote and position new and existing product lines to generate incremental sales.
- Prepare and deliver impactful sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, R&D, and operations teams to align business development efforts.
- Provide accurate forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and professional networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- 12-15+ years of proven B2B sales experience within the Flavor, Fragrance, or Organics industry.
- Demonstrated track record of managing multimillion dollar sales portfolios and achieving growth targets.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, essential oils, or specialty ingredients a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Performance Metrics / Success Measures
The VP of Sales will be evaluated based on measurable outcomes, including:
- Revenue Growth: Achieving year-over-year sales growth in assigned territories or accounts.
- New Business Development: Number and value of new accounts signed.
- Build a dynamic sales team.
- Account Expansion: Growth in revenue from existing customers through cross-selling or upselling initiatives.
- Customer Retention: Maintaining strong client relationships and achieving high customer satisfaction.
- Market Penetration: Expanding the company’s presence within small and mid-sized companies and emerging brands.
- Forecast Accuracy & Reporting: Timely and accurate submission of sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates.
