A beautiful luxury resort on the stunning southwest coast of Florida is seeking an accomplished
Vice President of Sales and Marketing to join its executive team. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in leading Sales and Marketing efforts for a resort, demonstrating creativity, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and lead by example.
Your Role
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives to achieve budgeted goals, focusing on building a strong group business base and driving revenue growth.
- Create exceptional marketing plans and campaigns to enhance visibility and bookings.
- Direct online advertising strategies and drive digital channel performance through data analysis and ROI-focused initiatives.
- Sales Development:
- Lead sales efforts in group, consortia, wholesale, leisure, and business travel markets.
- Play an active role in resort sales by calling on accounts, meeting clients, hosting events, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Research and analyze market opportunities to establish a leadership position in the market.
- Collaboration and Execution:
- Work with Public Relations to coordinate media coverage for special events.
- Partner with internal teams to create and implement on-property promotions and programming.
- Represent the resort in community events, associations, and boards to enhance its image.
- Operational Excellence:
- Assist in annual budgeting and financial planning.
- Negotiate with clients to maximize revenue while meeting client needs.
- Monitor industry trends and capitalize on opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- Must be living and working in Florida currently
- 4–5 years of experience in a similar leadership role, in a large independent resort property.
- Proven expertise in group and transient markets with a track record of driving business from new clients and managing existing accounts.
- Experience leading a large sales team, especially during major renovations or operational transitions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong analytical skills.
- Deep knowledge of sales strategies, revenue management, and team leadership.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and work independently or cross-functionally to achieve goals.
Compensation And Benefits
- Highly competitive salary in the $200K to $210K range
- Strong incentive-based compensation structure.
- Excellent benefits package starting the first of the month following hire.
- Up to 20% travel required.
