Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile SEO/SEM Specialist who combines expertise in search engine optimization with technical and analytical skills to enhance our web presence and drive both organic and paid traffic. This role requires hands-on experience in SEO, PPC campaign management, keyword strategy, and content optimization, as well as the ability to make direct code edits in WordPress. The ideal candidate will use tools like SEMRush, Google Analytics, and Google My Business to achieve measurable growth in our online visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
SEO & SEM Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement SEO strategies, conduct keyword research, and perform ongoing optimization to achieve maximum ROI.
- Manage and optimize PPC campaigns across platforms (Google, Yahoo, Bing), track spending, estimate costs, and reconcile discrepancies to stay within budget.
- Execute A/B and multivariate tests to refine campaign effectiveness and leverage insights to enhance SEO/SEM strategies.
- Analyze competitor advertising links, trends, and insights to refine our approach and identify growth opportunities.
Content Creation & SEO Copywriting
- Write and optimize SEO-driven copy for blogs, landing pages, and other on-site content, ensuring alignment with targeted keywords and brand messaging.
- Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to integrate SEO best practices in content creation and programming.
- Track, report, and analyze website analytics to optimize content performance and improve search engine rankings continuously.
On-Page & Technical SEO Implementation
- Edit HTML, CSS, and JavaScript directly in WordPress to ensure site architecture and code align with SEO best practices.
- Manage robots.txt, XML sitemaps, structured data, and URL redirects to maintain optimal site health.
- Implement link-building strategies and collaborate with development teams to ensure that all newly developed code follows SEO guidelines.
- Recommend and implement changes to website architecture, linking, and other technical aspects to improve search engine visibility.
Campaign Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze data across SEO, SEM, and website analytics using tools such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, and other bid management tools.
- Generate regular reports on SEO and PPC performance, providing actionable insights to optimize campaigns and improve conversions.
- Monitor the latest trends and best practices in SEO, SEM, and performance marketing to stay competitive.
DevOps and Agile Practices
- Operate within an agile environment, integrating SEO and SEM updates in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Use DevOps principles, such as automated testing and version control, to streamline SEO-related updates across the site.
Customer Support & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve technical SEO and PPC issues, working proactively to improve both organic and paid search performance.
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3+ years of proven experience in SEO and SEM, including hands-on management of PPC campaigns on Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
- Demonstrated ability to drive successful performance marketing and online customer acquisition.
- Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, and other SEO tools.
- Hands-on experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies to optimize campaigns and site performance.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with direct experience optimizing code for SEO.
- Familiarity with WordPress, including content management, theme customization, and site performance tuning.
- Up-to-date with search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO/SEM best practices.
Content & Copywriting Skills:
- Skilled in creating SEO-driven copy that aligns with brand voice and keywords, optimized for blogs, landing pages, and product pages.
- Experience collaborating with content teams to ensure SEO alignment in content planning and execution.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Proficient with website analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Omniture) and experienced in performance reporting.
