About the Role
We’re seeking a creative and strategic Senior Manager/Director of Social Media to lead both organic and paid efforts across all platforms. This role will oversee social strategy for our brand, our award verticals, and our editorial site. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of crafting impactful campaigns that drive engagement and deliver measurable business results, alongside expertise in social media trends, analytics, and paid campaign management.
As a key member of the marketing team, theSenior Manager/Director will manage a social content producer and marketing coordinator while collaborating with cross-functional teams including growth marketing, PR, and content. This position requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on expertise in content creation, audience targeting, and performance optimization.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our NYC Chelsea office. We gather together on-site on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Requirements
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive social media strategy, including live content, that aligns with the brand’s values, objectives, and audience needs.
- Continuously evaluate and adapt the strategy to stay ahead of trends and innovations in the digital landscape.
- Define and maintain the tone of voice for all social media channels, ensuring it aligns with brand values and resonates with our audience, while collaborating with the design team to revamp templates and create a cohesive, visually engaging experience for our followers.
- Coordinate and establish social media best practices, strategies, and approaches across platforms.
Content Planning and Execution:
- Manage the content calendar to ensure a consistent, cohesive brand presence across all digital platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute social-specific content and campaigns
- Oversee the creation and implementation of innovative, engaging social media campaigns to enhance audience interaction and grow account followings.
Account Management:
- Oversee day-to-day management of all social media accounts, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
- Ensure content and engagement strategies are tailored to the unique requirements of each platform.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Leverage analytics tools to track and analyze social media performance metrics, identifying successes and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and actionable insights to guide future strategies and decisions.
Team Leadership and Vendor Oversight:
- Build, mentor and guide the social media team, currently consisting of 2 direct reports (one position which is open and this role will hire for) fostering creativity and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Manage external resources, including freelancers and vendors, to support content creation and execution.
Budget Management:
- Oversee the budget for social media and content creation, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact.
Preferred qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience working in an entrepreneurial B2B or B2C environment, ideally touching upon an audience within advertising, marketing, branding, creative, gaming, and/or agency
- A strong relationship builder and communicator who can understand and support a variety of teams, including product, marketing, business development, events, and creative
- Experience managing or mentoring a small team of direct reports
- Our tech stack currently includes Sprout, HubSpot, Google Analytics. Experience within these tools or similar technologies is helpful.
-Willingness and ability to travel as needed to cover live events, about 2x per quarter, usually for 1-2 nights, domestically.

Salary range for the role, based on experience:
$110,000 - $120,000 base salary, plus annual bonus
